Sorry to hear that about your son. It is a scary diagnosis. I was terrified when I got mine. Do you happen to know what kind of chemo that he will be taking?

Is your son at a center of pancreatic cancer center of excellence? The PANCAN site can help you find ide, if you are bit already in one, but don't delay chemo. What part of pancreas is his cancer in - head or tail? Must be difficult for a mom to see their "child" go through this. Find out what his mutations are from any biopsy that he had or bloodwork. Are you in the US? Chemo good, but so his prayer. I will add your son to my list of people to pray for which includes myself!

All he said was chemo .My son doesn't like to talk about it so I don't ask a lot of questions I know how he feels though when they told me I had lung cancer it scared me so bad and I just finished my radiation and going back to see if it is gone the 3rd July I will find out what kind of chemo he is taking and let you know

Ok great. Sorry, to hear about your lung cancer, but you know how he feels from your cancer journey? Pretend that your son would want to talk about his cancer diagnosis and treatment. From your experience as a patient, what advice would you give him? As his mother, what would you want to tell him?

I have recently been diagnosed with a cancer tumor in the pancreatic head. Scans show it is has not metastatic thus I am not stage IV. My internet searches have found that pancreatic cancer is very aggressive. There are many reports of stage IV cancers being cured using ivermectin. A Doctor in Canada is using up 2 mg/Kg of ivermectin and also fendendazole to address the cancer.

I’m 7 months post surgery now. Was diagnosed with stage three pancreatic cancer at the head last August and after a lot of thorough work ups, my surgeon recommended that we aggressively go after it. In mid September my pancreas, spleen, small intestine, gallbladder, appendix, 5 lymph nodes, a third of my liver and part of my stomach were all removed. Immediately I became a type 3c diabetic. Getting acclimated to being a diabetic overnight was somewhat of a shock to the system but I’ve adjusted very well to it. Late last December I was qualified by Medicare (I’m 70 YO) for a Medtronic insulin pump. It’s a game changer and does make managing your diabetes much more easy. Living w/o all of those other organs is no issue either. If your medical team can qualify you for this total whipple, I suggest following their lead as it removes many of the likely places that the cancer can metastasize to. I’m living a pretty normal life at this point and have high hopes that my recovery will just keep getting better. Hope the same for you. It’s possible! Keep your head up and be optimistic! Dennis A

Thank you for your kind optimistic advice. I do not want the surgery! "Quality of Life" is important to me.

Talk with your medical team. I am not living a compromised lifestyle. It’s as good as it really can be with a better chance for a longer life than opting for just a partial approach to thwarting the spread of the disease internally. I remain steadfast that my quality of life is just as good as it was prior to surgery.
