Pleural-based 6mm nodular stable then a year later 14mm
At the right lung base/right lower lobe, there is a pleural-based 14 mm nodular
opacity that appears to enhance, possibly a small vascular malformation with
neoplasm favored to be less likely. Consider PET/CT. Similar appearance of a 4
mm right middle lobe nodule. Now the 14mm one grew it was 6mm last ct scan and was stable and that scan was only one year ago

It’s definitely stressful reading the ct scan results but this is the routine we have to do, I’m due for the next ct scan in August and I’m scared, I usually get a scan every six months but I had four scans that were stable so I didn’t need a scan for a year. I’m not comfortable with this because I worry about how much can happen in a year. I think that they will do a PET scan for you to see what’s happening, they may also want to do a biopsy to determine what it is, I know you’re worried and that’s to be expected, I pray for healing and I hope that everything goes well for you and your recovery.
Thank you . And yes, I’m getting a PET/CT scan soon so we’ll see what happens. Also, I’m a non-smoker crazy
It’s normal for people to fear the worst, I do it all the time so I’m not making life easier for me. I have learned that nodules don’t usually change or grow when they’re benign however they can also change with infection or other conditions, you’re in a good place because the nodule is very small and you can’t beat early detection, more good treatments are available and helpful medications. Lots of people who have respiratory problems never smoked cigarettes or cannabis, it’s probably due to our environment getting more polluted. however it’s a good benefit for you that you never smoked, please keep us posted on your progress.
Thank you true . Just freaked out how much it grew
Welcome to Mayo Connect @jason49gators, I'm sorry that you're facing this finding. I know it's not easy, and I'm sure you'll have some worry filled days ahead. I'm glad you found us. Many of us have seen nodules grow, but they aren't always cancer. Our lungs can react to many sources of irritation. Considering the size, 1.4 cm, your doctors are following up, first with the PET scan that you mentioned. Each scan and test can help to complete the picture of what the nodule may be. Take a deep breath, as finding more information can take some time.
Have they talked about doing a biopsy? Are you working with a pulmonologist?
Thank you 😊. Not yet . I work with a pulmonologist this week
Well looks good 😊
Chest:
The recently described 14 mm right lung base nodule is non-FDG avid with max SUV
of 1.7. Consider follow-up with a contrast-enhanced chest CT in 3 months.
No FDG avid lymphadenopathy.
