Pacemaker reports

Posted by dey10238 @dey10238, Jun 16 4:25pm

I changed cardiologist last year. At my previous cardiologist, I was able to see my quarterly pacemaker report from the automatic download on my patient portal. The new Cardiology group does not put the report on my portal. My dad goes to a different Cardiology group and his report is viewable on his portal. I got a bill today for the doctor who reviewed my report, but it has been over a month and my next download has not been scheduled. Just wondering what other Cardiology groups do about making the report available. Maybe I am expecting something that is out of line for the norm. I liked looking over the first page because it provided a lot of information. I have had afib in the past, but was corrected with an ablation. I would love to hear other experiences. Thank you!

All Mayo Clinics have patient portals. All my tests done are sent to my doctors as well as me.

I am a Mayo Jacksonville patient. I get test results immediately just like my doctors. Test results are usually done within hours and sent to me and doctors.

Now you are talking about ICD/Pacemaker home monitor results. My device uses a system called Laitutude. My ICD/Pacemaker is set up to do a home monitor test every 3 months. At any time I want to check something I can do a manual test. That information is sent to Mayo Pace Clinic where a EP reads it and puts out a summary on my portal. I thus can read it and any comments.

But the Mayo portal also allows doctors to sent you messages and the patient to send messages to all your doctors as well as review all test, schedule appointments, etc.

Thank you for your response. My ablation was done at Mayo Rochester and I could see my tests result quickly.

I also like looking through the “Quick Look” report from my Pacemaker/ICD. My cardiologist has been putting a copy on MyChart Test Results. Because of an insurance change I’m having to change to a different Dr. haven’t yet had a consult with the new guy.

Sadly for us, Mayo Clinic does not accept Medicare Advantage plans.

I had done a comment on this but don't see my post.

This topic of Medicare Advantage has come up before. I too though Mayo did not accept Medicare Advantage (I have traditional) but learned that each Mayo is different in what insurance they take.

A mentor or the director posted some time ago that Mayo's do accept some Medicare Advantage programs but very limited and each location is different. The problem with Medicare Advantage is that the provider is not dealing with Medicare anymore it is dealing with the insurance provider you picked.

I know at Mayo Jacksonville tradiational Medicare allows Mayo to charge more under Medicare as classified as a Specialty Hospital under Medicare.
