Recent studies/info on immunotherapy w RSO/Full Extract Cannabis Oil
Hi All,
I’m new to this site. You have been highly recommended and I’m writing to the community for help.
I have lung cancer/cancer of unknown primary. The doctors are unsure which. The cancer has metastasised and is present only in the liver. I have been on chemo for a while and on RSO(Rick Simpson Oil)/ Full Extract Cannabis Oil for 1 month. My oncologist has now moved me onto immunotherapy. I stopped taking my RSO as I read a small sample study that indicated cannabis oil and immunotherapy may interact and prevent each other from working. I have since spoken to a cancer nurse, a doctor at a renowned cancer hospital, and a pharmacist drug interaction line about this. They have told me there should be no interactions between my immunotherapy drug (Nivolumab) and cannabis oil, however none of them knew about RSO/ Full Extract Cannabis Oil specifically. They questioned whether it contained both THC and CBD which I confirmed.
· I wondered if anyone on this forum could recommend any recent studies on this?
· Has experience of this themselves – using these together?
· Knows anything about RSO/Full Extract Cannabis Oil and immunotherapy?
Any help, information or suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

The RSO is cannabis that’s full spectrum, that’s to say it contains THC.. this ingredient is what causes the mental effect and CBD doesn’t, most people use cannabis without the THC that just want pain relief… I’ve seen people who tried cannabis later in life and they didn’t like it, they were high and it frightened them, this doesn’t occur if you only use cannabis with CBD, many have said that it helped them with issues like sleep deprivation, depression, anxiety and also pain management. I think that cannabis is very helpful for me but if you’re new to it I would recommend getting help from an expert so that you know what you’re getting.
I also wanted to add that cannabis does interact with other medications and also herbal remedies. It’s very difficult to get a lot of information about cannabis because it’s been legalized recently and there’s just not a lot of data on it yet. I know that in some countries like the UK and Israel have been doing a lot of research on this drug and it’s been proven to help reduce nausea for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. I do believe that this drug will be of benefit for many people but it will take time for all the negative information to be resolved.
Hi Baz10,
How sad for your son not being able to eat solid food! Have you tried different kinds of liquid foods such as soups, cocoa, ice cream, Ensure etc. ? I will say a prayer for your son. He needs a miracle and God can give him one! God is there for us. We just have to keep praying for your son and I will.
I wish him and you the best.
