@marcye14 - I'm so, so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Very sad news. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to come on and share this with those in this discussion.
I have not lost my mom, but I did lose my dad in 2022. I felt like I went around in a fog for 2 months. I was still able to do my normal things, but somewhat in a fog, which I believe was sadness/depression.
I realize you have a lot going on right now and a lot to process. A couple things to keep in your back pocket for when you feel up to it:
- An in-person or online grief support group. I joined an online one with complete strangers in another state in the middle of their grief curriculum, cause I felt like I needed it that much right at that moment. I later did an in-person one at my church. Many hospices and churches, among other organizations, offer these. I found it helped so much to be with others who really wanted to talk about losing a loved one and really understood.
- Mayo Clinic Connect, the same platform you are on here, has a support group you may want to check out: Loss & Grief support group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/loss-grief/. This would also put you in touch with others experiencing similar losses and feeling that they want/need to talk about it with others who understand.
Again, I'm extremely sorry. It really hurts a lot to lose a parent.

Very sad news, Marcy.
May God grant peace to her, to you, and to all your family and loved ones.
