I am recovering from GBS, it's going on 11yrs. now. I still have faith in finding a way of standing and walking. Also to get my upper mobility back stronger. I am now seeking for help outside of Hawaii. I want to see if a clinic or other facilities can help me. Pls I am asking for more information and help? I still have faith and the will to become independent again. I want to give my daugther her life back. She has been my caregiver straight out of high school @ 18teen til now. I thank the LORD for all she has done for me. Now I want better for her and I. Is there a DR., SPECIALIST, THERAPIST or person that can help me?

Hi, My 81 year old dad has been diagnosed with GBS just 10 days ago, I just came home from visiting him in the hospital, he is such excruciating pain at times, last week they started morphine, it was working great at first, but now he can hardly wait until the next dose! I cannot sleep because this horrible disease that plagues my dear dad causes our family to feel so helpless!! He has like paralyzed, he cannot even move a finger! Is it up to him/us to push for therapy in spite of the pain? We were told it is up to the patient, but therapy is intense and expensive, and a total waste of money unless the patient is highly motivated!? Is this true? How can an older man be motivated to get better with so much pain!?
