1st appointment w/doc tomorrow. Any "must ask" questions ?

Hi All,
I've been waiting a while to see the Bronchiectasis specialist at Mayo Phoenix - my spirometry and appointment with the doc is tomorrow. I saw a colleague of his back in March as my CT scan also showed a lung nudule which needed looking at, but this is the first appointment I could get with the Bronchiectasis guy even though I kept calling for an earlier appointment. Suspect he's super busy and my time may be limited. I did all the bloodwork back then.
Just wondering if there are any "must ask" questions that I may not have thought of.
I'm new to all of this although I've been coughing off and on for several years and it turns out my older sister in the UK has been diagnosed with Bronchiectasis also. Like others, an unrelated CT scan has led me to tomorrow's Mayo visit. I've been reading a lot and following this support group for several weeks.
Hoping tomorrow will start my journey off in the right direction.
Thanks

Many thanks for the replies and suggestions.
It seems my current condition is fairly mild although I may have had it since 2013 according to my history and ealier xrays. I think middle and upper right lobes. Probably caused by 2 or 3 pneumonias around that time frame although not dismissing some genetics as my sister also diagnosed about 3 years ago. I think the Doc mentioned testing for that and I was sent for more bloodwork.
Apparently I aced my lung function test but the Doc wants to work on the cough so I have started with an Aerobika device twice a day and Symbicort (definitely wishing I hadn't opted for the high deductible part D plan). At this point no nebulizing but maybe later. They took a sputum sample so I guess we will have to wait on the results of that.
Don't need to get tested for Acid Reflux as I already know I have that (started late last year as I have a Hiatal Hernia) and its a part of my coughing problem. However, Doc did not seem concerned that there was an acid aspiration issue. I need to continue getting the reflux under control as one cough seems to lead to another and its hard to tell the source.
Doc cleared me to carry on with my house renovationg (this is my job) and his only restriction/suggestion was to stay out of hot tubs LOL. I go back in 3 months.
The Mayo Clinic seems to be a fairly well-oiled machine once you are there. Everything is on campus and it happens that day - no coming back when they can fit you in - and only 15 minutes from home.

I am still not sure about different types of sputum tests and at different labs etc. When I first gave my samples I always assumed it was testing for basically everything (other than MAC which I know takes 3 samples and a long time). But learned later on it was not testing specifically for Pseudomonas. When that test was finally done (at my suggestion!) it turned up very positive. Had it been caught earlier could have made a huge difference. So you might ask about testing for that as well to cover all your bases.

Pseudomonas is such a common and clinically significant finding, and therefore it was my understanding that it was tested for in standard respiratory cultures, especially when ordered by a pulmonologist. I am sorry you had that experience.

Maybe different labs have different tests. Like I say I still do not understand. I was given the usual sputum sample testing cup to test what bacteria was in my lungs and nothing was identified but I was treated with Augmentin and it cleared things up. But a year or so later when second course of Augmentin was tried and failed, I suggested Pseudomonas to my Pulmo and said he would test for it. It was a different test in that it required the sample be driven up on ice that day. The previous test was mailed in as I recall. Anyway this is the U of IA hospitals and clinics and I assume they have very good labs and testing. It is identified as a CF test. I find it all confusing for sure. So anyway I am not sure it is tested in standard cultures. Best to ask!
