@margui70, You did the absoulte correct thing by callng the transplant team. I love the Mayo Clinic Transplant Department because of our ability to reach out anytime-even Holiday weekends like this one. My transplant team is at the Mayo in Rochester and I would have received the same advice - unless there was an infection or fever involved.
It is going to be a long wait until Tuesday, but in the mean time, it is important that your husband continue to take his meds and stay hydrated. If he develops a fever or cannot take meds, then you will need to make a nother call to the 24/7 line.
If you have a regular dentist or a primary care doctor, they might be able to get you in to see an endodontist right away (they do have that power for us transplantees). @loribmt, What would you like to add to my remarks?

If your husband does develop a fever, that can indicate an infection and he may need to be prescribed antibiotics. If there are signs of swelling or obvious infection and you don’t feel he can wait until tomorrow to be seen, there are often emergency dental clinics or practitioners who take weekend emergencies. Especially in places like Jacksonville with high tourist areas.
When we are in FL for the winter there are several emergency or first care facilities, some indicating it includes emergency dental care.
Most dental practices also have answering services. Have you tried calling his dentist?
