@jmglkn - I'm wondering if you completed your sentence (meta sized t), can you provide more info re the location and metastasis?

Hello @jmglkn. I was diagnosed with SCC deep in my ear canal 13 years ago. Treatment was surgery, radiation and targeted chemo. I have had 4 metastases since then: to lung twice, subcutaneous on muscle, and kidney with lymph nodes. I have had surgery to remove most but this last one to kidney and lymph nodes wasn't going to be cured with surgery. I started an immunotherapy Libtayo ( Cemiplimab) and mets started to shrink in the first year and were gone during the second year. I have been off the drug for 2 years now and so far (knocking on wood) I am still clear. There are multiple options for treatment of metastatic SCC and more drugs being approved every year. Have faith that there is one out there to control your tumor. Also look into boosting your immune system with supplements like Beta Glucan and medicinal mushrooms. You are your own best advocate for health care so don't hesitate to ask for a second opinion and seek out a large referral cancer center. My treatment from the beginning has been at Mayo in Rochester, a 10 hour drive from home. Do you have such a facility nearby?

SCC on my legs metastasized to my lymph node in Left groin. I started Libtayo December 2023 with infusions every three weeks. It did clear the lesions on my legs and it shrunk the tumor in lymph node. I developed a severe rash on my entire back and down both arms. Had to stop Infusions of Libtayo. It was making my body toxic. After that I had severe diarrhea and vomitting and became dehydrated. Spent four days hospitalized.
I live in the Minneapolis metro area and made an appointment at Mayo. They have been a lifesaver. I’m scheduled to have my lymph node in my left groin removed.
