ulcerative colitis and ibs-c
I got impacted. Colace wasn't enough. Everything is too harsh for me. A nurse suggested Emma, an all natural laxative. Has anyone heard of this? I would appreciate the moderators input also. Thanks.

mariajean03,
I have more than one thing going on with my gut. I also have IBS-C. I think I would have pain from :something," if I didn't jump through a lot of food and lifestyle hoops.
I checked the Amazon reviews for Emma, the most recent ones, it seems hit or miss. I have never tried it.
Here is a tweet-length list highlighting what I take and do/don't do for success, without the quantities or other details. Feel free to ask Qs if anything seems useful.
Slippery Elm Inner Bark Powder
Ground Chia Seed
Intoleran Digestive Enzymes
Magnesium
Colace Stool Softener
A pitcher of plain water a day (not cold)
All produce cooked
Gluten-free and grain-free
Lactose-free
No meat or fish
Selected Monash University Low FODMAP veggies, fruits, etc.
Stress/Anxiety reduction lifestyle changes and Cognitive Behavoiral Therapy
No sugar (pure stevia drops instead)
Belly massage and stretching
Exercise
I've tried everything but intoleran enzymes. Can you explain what they are? Abdominal scan next week! My pain is constant. Exhausted! Thanks.
mariajean03,
We'll you are a creatively-smart soul. And you must have already checked, IBD, ulcer, redundant colon, prolapse, diverticuli/losis etc.
Intoleran dietary enzymes are FODMAP-focused, for food intolerances. They sell $5 sample packs. Regarding Monash's app, I can only eat some of the 100% green-lit foods. I eat maybe 15 things.
I also cannot eat too much at one sitting, and only a few spices, avoiding seed fruit like strawberries. Bland is also better.
For me, pain would be from IBS cramps or trapped gas; I often have discomfort, not pain.
Good luck with your scan!
Thanks. How do they check for Food Intolerance?
