FATIGUE! I feel like it's not worth listing any beyond that because that is the one disrupting my life for the past 5 years since COVID. Very few things help; I was slowly getting better, then getting mono 1.5 years ago plus bad reaction to typhoid vaccine set me back to about Y2 now. After fighting for so long, I am finally to the point of 1) cutting back from work full time, just going down to 32-35 hours to still have health insurance and 2) Going on medical leave for a month, if I can get a dr note, because I have never taken any significant time off to try to just get back to a better baseline and keep going.
Lung symptoms and upper chest/back pain and tightness was my other main symptom. Thankfully stellate ganglion block helped to the point I could stop inhaler. It helped upper chest but not upper back, and still get inflamed feelings or sometimes short of breathe, but not the kind that an inhaler would help with.
Yes, I'm fine at rest but any exertion tires me out quickly. I do life in 10-20 minute bursts and then I have to sit down or lie down.
I have been diagnosed with 2 issues which apparently cause this:
1--Cardiac preload insufficiency which means my vascular system doesn't not return enough blood to my heart when stressed/exercise.
2--Reduced mitochondrial effectiveness which means the mitochondria in the cells of my skeletal muscles no longer utilize oxygen effectively.
Now over 5 years in LC…the very first symptoms from covid 19 were high BP and this has remained and grown worse along with high HR and syncope diagnosed as ‘postural hypotension, not POTS’ with tilt table test 18 months ago. So this related group of symptoms is far the worst as so disabilitating…think collapsing out completely in town followed by severe vomiting! The fatigue and all over pain, and lack of sense of smell ( and related flavour) I have learnt to live with by very slow living, very limited cooking ( an old hobby) and shopping, and lots of help from husband…but I miss the prospect of walking in country or town, which means no holidays!
Oops… forgot the brain fog too! I’ve recently done a Imperial College Uk ( where I live) test on cognitive abilities with LC that confirmed how my brain has deteriorated unevenly: in top 10% for my age for visual ‘stuff’ which I was always strong on, but bottom 10% for ‘working’ … had always had problems holding 4 random figures in my heads, but could do reasonable mental arithmetic… now have to write down the most simple sums like working cooking times out which was easy in my head! Plus I could easily remember say 5 tasks to do in my head, perhaps food to buy, now it’s one…thus how I missed brain fog from earlier list! I can read novels still ok, but not scientific papers as can’t hold acronyms in my head…weird.

Have you gotten any answers on how to boost mitochondrial effectiveness?? My calves, firearms.biceps and base of skull ( upper neck) feel “heavy” on my “bad” days .. not really painful but a really tired and sore feeling ..
2.5 years in; Pain is my worst symptom. It's deep aching pain in muscles to the bones throughout my shoulders, arms, legs, fingers, toes, joints. It gets so bad that I am debilitated by the pain--I can't function or think because of the pain. low histamine, no added sugar GFCF diet has helped a lot. My functional doctor believes high histamine release and mast cell activation after Covid is driving this situation. She also believes that it caused my other symptoms.
My main symptoms are pain, high BP after Covid , tachycardia. The first symptoms were (sudden onset) high blood pressure, high heart rate. These happened month after Covid infection. The biggest symptom occurred after three months: Crippling pain throughout my arms and legs.
Went to Grand Rapids Mary Freebed. They did not provide any helpful answers that we did not find in our own research.
Extreme fatigue.
Exhausted.
Weakness.
No energy.
Thyroid medicine May help a tiny bit for a year. Prayers for total Health and Healing for everyone for everything. Sincerely. Love and prayers. Betsy in SW Michigan 😇✝️🛐🙏🙏🙏
I have pulsating tinnitus which is real annoying, I also have body vibrations which are concerning. I read through the comments and didn't realize the vibrations may be due to covid.
