Senile purpura
Hi
I developed this condition 3 years ago and when they took me off of my cholesterol medication. My arms cleared up.I had to go back on crestor and my arms are a mess. I have found that since I finished radiation treatment in April. It is a lot worse. I do the arnica cream and homeopathic pill and the retinol. I am starting a light therapy in January. That puts the collogin in your skin and helps strengthen it. Fingers crossed if helps. I hate this.

How is your pupura now? Is it getting better?
I didn’t have purpura, but I have petechiea. I was taking Exemestane for a year without serious side effects. But soon after mastectomy, I developed petechiea on my lower legs. All my blood tests are within normal range, so it must be Exemestane which I found out an article about that. When I stopped the med it went away, then I started again, it came right back. Like petechiea, pupura may be a reaction to some medication you’re taking, most notably high blood pressure meds. It could be the bc treatments that trigger the reaction to certain drugs, in my case Exemestane after my mastectomy.
Hi
Right now it seems to be better.I only have one spot on my left arm. That just appeared yesterday. I started using coconut oil on my skin and it really seems to have helped. I also have had some red light therapy sessions. I have always felt it from medication. I take crestor five milligrams Is every other day. Along with a lot of other medication for is poor heart. Also , my skin is so dry for menopause.
I’m glad you’re doing better. It’s a terrible feeling to see it on your skin. I felt the same way about petechiea. It’s still there but not a lot.
Coconut oil sounds good. I used to message my hair with coconut oil before washing it so it wouldn’t be dry. Not putting it on scalp though. I didn’t use conditioner because it caused my hair to fall out. I used the cold press cooking coconut and warm it up before using it. I’ll try on my skin now to see if it helps. Thanks for the tip!
My sister-in-law’s mother also had either petechiea or purpura for a while then her doctor found out that it was caused by her blood pressure medication.
Hi
So my doctor recently had to put me on meloxicam and this is what is happening again. So I guess I will not be taking that. I am so ticked. So frustrating does anybody else have this issue when they have to take an anti inflammatory
Omg! I had no idea it’s that bad. Mine was just little dots and I’m pretty sure it’s from exemestane. It’s all gone now since I switch to Letrozole. Is there any other kind of medication you can take instead of meloxicam? What did the doctor say about it? My dermatologist recommended compression socks. It helped but didn’t cure. I’m so sorry you have to deal with purpura. I would be pissed too. Keep me posted on the progress. I hope someone will chime in with helpful tips.🤗
Hi
Thanks. I Just can take tylenol arthritis plus 1 advil plus I guess. . I see my Dr Tuesday.
Just want to see how you’re doing with purpura. Did it finally go away? My petechiea is gone now after switching to Letrozole. It’s the medication.
Hi
It was all cleared up . I have Osteoporosis and after radiation for bc my spine had e compression fractures. The Dr Tried 2 different anti inflammatories. Which now I can't take because my arms and my legs are a mess. All broke out So I just had to stop the meds. Hopefully I clear up again.
I’m so sorry the medication causes purpura to break out again! Some lucky people can take pretty any med without side effects! I hope the purpura goes away soon. Couldn’t we enjoy our old age without these problems? Hugs.
