Yes
I liked it
Been taking a low dose for years and will continue to.
I’ve been taking lexapro 5mg for three weeks with no improvement. Yesterday my doctor doubled the dose, and said if no better in another week to double it again. I’m a little leery but will comply.
What do you mean by"could not tolerate alcohol?"
Alcohol was very unpredictable. I might have 2 drinks and be unable to walk.

1 ReactionI was on it for about 10 yrs. Side effects starting up were a bit difficult.. my anxiety worsened before it got better. I talked w my doctor along the way to manage that. Once I got thru that, I did feel better. It took worry away and I felt normal again. But I think over the years it lost its efficacy as meds will do. I upped dosage a couple of times before weaning off. I started to feel numb and blah and decided to come off. Alcohol is not good with it, if you need to drink, stay off this med.
I have been taking an antidepressant for years. I started at the very low dose and right now I am taking more than what is said on the website and my doctor says it's okay and I feel okay. So don't worry if you're taking an increase if you need it if it works and the doctor prescribes it just do what he says, but if something doesn't feel right, let your doctor know immediately
I took it - personally it worked for me. Issues with tapering after, but that's the same with all SSRI's, and just go slow.
Everyone is different so if Lexapro works, great, if not, chat with your dr about other meds. There's dozens so it's likely there's one that works for you, if Lexapro doesn't do the trick.
I'm 68 and I still work hard in home health so I do get tired. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia for nearly 30 years osteoarthritis for the last 8. I'm sorry you had such a bad time off it and I'm glad you lived through it.
I told my doctor I fall asleep every day between 4 & 6 he replied good time to take a nap! I sort of agreed but I like to make those decisions myself.
It week 6 now and it's better. I take a short nap after work and have focus and energy to do something and cook super, clean the kitchen etc.
I've had to learn to be patient. I tried other MAIO 's and was a zombie. I find i so better with a SSRI med.
Good Luck
