Has anyone had Prostate Artery Embolization?

Does anyone had the procedure for enlarged prostate as alternative to HoLep or Aquablation? It seems to have minimal side effects and supposedly very effective.

I'm looking into getting PAE pretty soon, waiting on scheduling basically at this point. I think for many it will be a combination of something like PAE and taking occasionally dutasteride (stop the too much DHT). It is thus a combination of things. Also anything to help boost Free Testosterone, as if your body isn't turning it into Free Testosterone it is likely becoming estrogen and that furthers the BPH. Not much is scientific about the things that help convert T to Free T but things like boron, magnesium, etc are believed to be helpful. So yes, PAE if needed, dutasteride occasionally, boron, magnesium. Seems to be the way I am going.

Please don´t forget about - Post-embolization syndrome (PES). Make a search about it, and in my case at least, it lasts more than a month. PAE for me was good during 20/30 days, where I have a strong urine stream, but subsides after this. As far as I know PAE is not a definitive solution so you must have to redo it after 2/3 years. That´s what happens to me

I had a PAE over 2 years ago. Even though they only found one artery to block, it has been a life saver. I no longer have to take an Alpha Blocker. I still get up 1-2 times per night, but that is normal for an 86 year old. I had the PAE after Proton Therapy and have been extremely pleased with both. The PAE went smoothly and I some minor pain urinating for about a week. Since then I feel 10% normal.

Thank you. Did you mean 10% of normal or 100% of normal?
