My Gleason score is 7 - 3+4. How long can I live without treatment?
My Gleason score is 7 - 3+4,. How long can I live without treatment? Since I decided not to get any treatment, because of horrible side effects, I was wondering, if someone who experienced the same condition, will share his experience with me.

I’m 61. PSA was 8.1, then 7.8 two days later than two months later 5.4 in March. Did you check your Free PSA? My MRI was PIRADS 3 with no focal lesions. Doing another PSA in June and probably another MRI if numbers go back up. Maybe a benign issue. If numbers go way up and MRI notices a change then probably biopsy.
I had the same numbers. When my prostate was removed the cancer was not contained in the prostate.
What did the MRI show before your prostate was removed?
I have the same question. My Gleason is 3+4, and I am seriously considering observation vs. treatment. I am 70, and if I can live another 10+ years without treatment, that may be a valid option for me.
Any firsthand experience would be appreciated.
Hi. I’ve been treating mine for 16 years starting at age 56. Now 72. Everything has side effects but I felt I can deal with it. Easier than the cancer growing and spreading.
You really can’t just go by your Gleason score. If you had 10-12 cores positive that’s more concern than two out of 12. Family history is also to be considered. My dad and an Uncle died from it with no treatment. Years before the psa test and biopsies for prostate cancer. And if your numbers are all 3-4 that’s not as aggressive as 4-3s. Many things to be considered. All the side effects are manageable. They might not be fun, ED ect, but you can get by. If you’re 6-6 then watching is ok
