Stricture of urethera--should it be very painful?
I had surgery four months for labial adhesions. I didn't panic the first month or so when I had pain but it's been long enough. I continue to have pain just when I pee. I sit, walk, etc. without any problem but as soon as the pee begins I have really sharp pain. I've been told I have a stricture of the urethera--not a new diagnosis but I've never had this pain. The vulva dermatologist told me to take AZO as long as I'm hurting. It's been taking it over a week and I can't see any improvement. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. None of the doctors I've seen after the surgery have done a urinalysis. I'll go to urgent care tomorrow and ask that they take a specimen. Thanks.

Hello, @fdixon63. I'm so sorry to hear that you’ve been dealing with painful urination for such a long time. That kind of discomfort, especially when it goes on for months, can be incredibly draining.
According to Mayo Clinic, urethral stricture can cause pain when urinating as well as urinary tract infections.
