I have read about new therapy using a light device that is showing good results for intermediate macular degeneration. Has anyone else heard of this? Do they use it at mayo clinic? Here is a link. https://www.myamdteam.com/resources/vision-saving-device-for-dry-amd-lands-fda-authorization

There is a thread on this site about light therapy for AMD, link below. Also, if you search for Photobiomodulation or photomodulation (or photo modulation), there are some other discussions about it.

I have JAK2/PV and take HU. I also have MD but it is not advanced and I’ve gone from seeing my opthamologist twice annually to just once a year. I saw her yesterday and she recommended a new therapy phtobiomodulation which I understand uses laser and red light. And, she also wanted me to start taking MaculaPM, a new supplement for MD.
She knows I have PV and take HU and said taking the MaculaPM isn’t a problem but when I googled it, it seemed to be contraindicated if you are on a chemo drug. And, despite knowing some people on Connect use red light therapy and love it, I have also read it may be contraindicated for certain cancers.
So, and realizing a little knowledge/google can be a dangerous thing and while I wait for some input from my hematologist, Im wondering if anyone on Connect who has PV and is taking HU has any experience with either thr supplement or photobiomodukation?
Thanks.

Has anyone been treated with this new therapy? My doctor just recommended this for my advanced stage of dry AMD.
