I am experiencing profuse sweating off during the day and nightly. Is this common post Covid?

I actually feel like I hardly sweat at all any more, but I get frequent (as in multiple times a day) low-grade fevers just from exertion, and then flushing and hot flashes when the fevers are going down. I'm going to have a thermoregulatory sweat test at Mayo in May to see whether perhaps I'm not sweating and that is causing my elevated temperatures.

I had covid 3 or four times. Got this sweating and overheating issue all of a sudden in summer 2022. Has not left since! Very brutal and unpleasant thing to have. I never ever used to sweat before this. Anyone come across any cures? Anyone had symptoms subside? All the best!

I had a covid infection in 2022 and I believe they referred to the variant as Omicron, apparently sweating was a prevalent symptom. I also had palpitations with the sweating and rapid heart beats even when I was sitting down, these symptoms lasted about two years and then they stopped.

Hi @hahaland. Think you’ll find many here with no temp regulation, sweating, hot flash unlike menopause! …. It was recommended by my post covid clinic to do box breathing at the earliest sign of symptom to help reset nervous system. Mine are everchanging and this has helped to maneuver thru them. Hope helpful and quickest healing to you🌈

In my support group run by a long covid Survivor I learned that there is such a thing as covid sweats. I'll get them under my arms occasionally there are also rashes which can itch and night sweats these are intermittent for me and sometimes they'll have to change my shirt during the night. Temperature regulation is definitely an issue I think it's part of the dysautonomia.

Hello— I’ve now had Covid twice. (immunocompromised: — Lupus, PsA, AI Pancreatitis/EPI , Asthma). I’m considered a Long Covid patient— contracted the first case early 2020 & still have some ongoing issues. One thing that doesn’t get better is the body temp disregulation. I get sudden onset extreme heat intolerance. I get no warning. It happens periodically & day/night. It’s to the point that it’s so profound I sometimes have to quickly remove my clothing. But what’s absolutely terrible is the profound night sweats. This has been going on for over 14 months now. It wakes me up several times a night. Sometimes it’s my entire body—literally head to toe. I wake up drenched in sweat, and my body is hot to the touch. Even this past winter—when the night temps get to 20•, I turned the heat off, opened my bedroom window, had light covers on. No relief. It’s unbearable. Doctors here (NM) have performed so many tests. They keep saying that it’s not related to female hormonal changes & no obvious signs of Thyroid disease . (I have had significant vascular & neurological changes since Covid diagnoses.) They can’t figure it out. One suggested that perhaps it’s related to Long Covid. I’m just exasperated & need answers

I just saw this post recently and, I'll tell you honestly, I became emotional. I have been dealing with this since May 2003 when I contracted SARS. I've tried to explain this to my doctors, but they don't seem to understand what is causing it. It has disrupted my life, ANY activity, despite how low impact causes me to soak my clothes. I too strip bedsheets off during the night because I heat up and sweat, and 10 minutes later I'll feel chilled because it's passed and I'm damp and the air is chilly. I suffer from neuropathic pain compromised immune system, CFS and Fibromyalgia since.
I haven't been able to get much help, I hope someone is studying this somewhere to find a treatment...it's unbearable at times.

I had the infamous Omicron which I heard was known for causing excessive sweating. Honestly I think that covid is more than just another virus, when you read what people are going through, it’s a proverbial nightmare…the symptoms vary greatly but there are some similarities, what’s more important is that they find the help for you and all the other people so they can get their lives back the way it was before the pandemic, amen.
