Caring for NDPH Family Member
Hello,
NDPH (New Daily Persistent Headache) doesn't get much, if any, research money, but there are thousands of men, women and children suffering from it. I wanted a space where the caregivers /family members of these NDPH sufferers can vent, exchange ideas and share experiences with each other. WELCOME and please share.

My 15 year old daughter has had a headache for 9 months. She has lost out on so much. This really sucks!
@grandma88, How awful to have daily headaches! And the doctors can do nothing except give it a name? I found a link that might be helpful:

Has your daughter been to a major medical center or university medical center? It would certainly be worth it for both of you.
What has your daughter tried , so far, to lessen the pain?
Hi, @grandma88 - I thought that the topic you brought up here, new daily persistent headache (NDPH) deserved some attention. So, I'm tagging some members who've mentioned it previously on Connect @quazar @covidstinks2023 @linamend @marye2 @llee1 @design1 @nguyening @lblack @mscaj01 @vasaiovic @annabelle1575. Hoping this will give them a space to vent, exchange ideas and share experiences with each other, as you mentioned, grandma88.
grandma88 - I'm guessing you are caring for someone who has NDPH? If so, will you share more about that situation?
Is it possible that the daughter has allergies? Also, sometimes the sinuses get very dry, so a shower or breathing over a pot of hot water helps. Check diet (go non processed), hydration (3 8 oz cups of water a day, beginning first thing in the morning) and make work to reduce being scheduled all of the time. I've also used EFT tapping, when the pain is above my eyebrows. There are lots of EFT tapping videos, but I found this one useful, in general. You can make an appointment with a neurologist if lifestyle changes do not work. Might not be medical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5gBLqTrNQ0
Hi @lisalucier - Thanks for your message. Yes, my husband has had New Daily Persistent Headache for 24 years. We think his major ear surgery, the same month that the pain started, was the cause. Many NDPH sufferers start with some type of head trauma. Besides the CONSTANT head pain, he has spikes which simulate migraine when there is a weather change. He can feel a thunderstorm coming 2 or 3 days before it hits. I hate that he has this horrible condition and try to be as understanding as I can be. It’s just the two of us, so the house is fairly quiet. When we have family visit, the additional noise stresses him out and makes his head hurt worse.
I’m searching info for my brother. He recently went to ER, then his VA doctors for recurring daily headache…on one side of head, including eye and face….nausea and dizzy. CT scan clear. MRI soon. He has no history of headaches and no head injuries.
