My rarely occurring migraines became daily migraines in 2020 following open heart surgery in late 2019. After trying various medications, as well as Botox, my migraines have basically disappeared by using Zonisamide daily. I continue my Botox treatment also.
Also, I am a female in my late 70s.

Thank you so much for your reply and information. I am keeping a list of things people suggest for when I see my Doctor again. I am desperate to have some changes in my life to help me! Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I'm 73 years old. I have had migraines for about 13 years, caused by a stress event. My program now is I do Botox every 90 days, I take Vyepti 300 ml every 90 days. I also take Aimovig or Ajovy once a month. I've quit taking Topiramate and Amitriptyline (quitting helped). The first thing I should have done was go to sleep doctor. I have sleep apnea. I tried the CPAP machine, couldn't take it. So, my dentist made up a mouthpiece which is really for snoring, but makes you breathe better, which helped a lot. I no longer wake up with headaches. Now, if I get them, I wear a cold patch on my forehead I buy from Amazon, and take 3 Advil. That seems to have worked for the most part. At least now I can function.
I would like to add to my previous comment that I, too, am on CPAP. I love my CPAP and find sleeping difficult if I’m not wearing it.
I have lived with horrible migraines since the age of 8. I am now 78 and have had the migraines 24/7 for about the last15 years, albeit at a lower intensity. I have tried EVERY possible therapy out there, including ALL the latest CGRP’s. NOTHING worked! I used to live for the2 days a week when I allowed myself 1 Tylenol3 - no more so as not to cause medication overuse headaches. My new family doctor suggested taking Vitamin B (400 mg of B2 daily and 1000mcg of B12 per week). I would say my headaches are 70% gone, and the intensity of the other 30% about a 2. And this happened at most a week after starting this supplement. I no longer take Tylenol 3. To all my fellow migraine sufferers out there, this might be something for you to speak to your doctor about, or just simply try. You cannot take too much Vitamin B as it is hydrosoluble and any excess will be excreted by the kidneys. I hope it works for some of you!
