Autoimmune Hepatitis
I would like more information. About my recent diagnosis of Autoimmune Hepatitis. Another Dr had said that I had NASH, but instead now I have been recently diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis. I already have Hashimoto's.

I was diagnosed with AIH 10 years ago. I was able to control my disease for 5 years with medication, but 5 years ago I progressed to needing a liver transplant. No worries. They have great medications available. Follow your doctor’s recommendations and you’ll be fine.
Thank you. What is scary for me, is I already have Hashimoto's;
(another Autoimmune Disorder) I found out that my Thyroid is so bad, that when I had a Ultrasound on it, they could barely find it. Which turns out I may have what is referred to as Graves Disease caused by Hypothyroidism. Most of the time it is caused by Hyperthyroidism.. my Thyroid medication is not absorbing into my system. Im scared.
Yes. With one autoimmune disease you usually get others. It sounds like you’re on the right path by keeping on top of things with tests and medications. Also listen to your body. Rest when needed. Focus on getting better and keep active. It’s scary, but you’re doing the right things.
@nana581967, Welcome to Connect. It must be confusing for you to have been told that you had NASH, and now are diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH). It sounds to me like this is a recent diagnosis, and that is good because when caught early, the chances of developing liver scarring/cirrhosis are reduced. As @jkbovi has already shared, autoimmune diseases usually come with other autoimmune diseases. Early in my journey with liver disease, I was thought to have (AIH) because I have another autoimmune condition (Vitiligo). I was later diagnosed with a different liver disease.
Here is information about Autoimmunse Hepatitis from Mayo Clinic.

Nana, My primary care doctor referred me to a specialist- Gastroenterologist (GI) who managed my liver care. Are you seeing a specialist? When I was thought to have AIH, I was prescribed prednisone, but that was nearly 20 years ago. Do you know if the doctor will be prescribing any medicines?
