Watering eye after collagen punctal plugs dissolved. Any ideas why?
I have MGD. I got dissolvable collagen punctal plugs a couple months ago. They seemed okay nothing special. But about 2 weeks ago I woke up with unilateral epiphora (watering eye) in just my right eye and it hasn’t stopped since. Could the plugs be somehow responsible or contributing? My doc says they have already dissolved so no. But it just seems odd, too coincidental. I’ve never had this before with the watering eye and just one. I don’t know if I can live like this

@lkisch when my eyes got extremely dry, tears would stream down my face. I was told that it was because my body was working hard to keep my eyes wet by flooding them.
Hi there. Thank you for the comment.. did it ever get better and stop watering? I've had dry eyes for a few years now. But this is just in one eye. Thanks again.
@lkisch I have a disease of my eyes and my eyes would get so dry that my eyelids would stick to my eyeballs. I had to gently pull the lids off.
That was 15 years ago.
I am almost normal now.
Lots of eye drops, warm compresses followed by a massage of the eye with your middle finger. (It’s weaker). Roll your finger up and down from your cheek up very gently pushing the tear ducts to excrete oils to lubricate the eyes.
That’s what I do.
That’s amazing. I’m always fighting dry eye. I just got punctal plugs last week. I’m not sure which kind I have.
