Orgasms after Aquablation

Posted by mike5450 @mike5450, Jul 28, 2023

I had an aquablation procedure two weeks ago. I have had some urine flow issues but my doc says that all went well and I am recovering properly. There was one topic on which he was entirely unclear, however, and the internet thus far has failed to provide useful information. Similarly, my email to the aquablation developer has gone unanswered.

This seems like information that should be available readily but it is not, so I will ask here: how soon after aquablation is it safe to have an orgasm? I already am having erections, so I would like to know what I can do with them.

I previously had a laser prostate procedure. At its conclusion, the urologist was quite clear: no orgasms for 45-60 days or risk damaging my internal organs. I haven't had similar warnings this time, so I wonder if the risks are the same or less significant with the more modern procedure.

I appreciate any information you can provide.

Surgery was a failure for me. Caused bladder control issues with a small improvement taking Gemtesa. Retro ejaculation is the worst part and has ruined my sex life with my wife. I am six months out now. Would i recommend. Not no but hell no !!!!

I am six months out. Still have retrograde ejaculation. I do have some pre ejaculate but i shoot air biscuits. Doctors dont tell all the downsides of this surgery. At least i still get an erection. I regret the surgery everyday. Still do not have full bladder control even on Gemtesa but it has improved.

Man, don't tell me that....do you at least have a sensation when you have a orgasm?

I agree with everything you said.
Worst part now is the recurring UTIs.
Among other things.

They say we gave “Informed Consent” but they didn’t give us all the facts?

By now I hope you've had sex countless times to great satisfaction for you and your partner.
My Aquablation was Jan 22. In hospital overnight with Foley and irrigation, Not a lot of pain and some soft erections. Upon removal of Foley next afternoon was able to void enough to be sent home. Urine was a dark burgundy color and I retained 284 ml of urine. Color seemed too dark and retention amount too high but first year resident okayed me to leave - and who wants to stay in the hospital. Foley removal was crazy painful, but not much pain other than that. Problems began at home: urination sometimes great other times a few drops. Always felt like I had to urinate except when laying down. A week later blood visibility is almost gone and am urinating in a more consistent fashion. Still feel like I have not gotten all the urine out. My greatest concern was the quality of my orgasms after surgery, that said, I masturbated and found it extremely difficult to orgasm. There was little sensation getting to orgasm and very little sensation during orgasm. Of all these post-op symptoms, I was informed by my surgeon of the blood in the urine and the one night stay in the hospital. I had also reviewed ProCept's website where none of these issues where addressed. I am seriously hoping that time changes these current outcomes. And no, my doctor never mentioned anything about when to have sex after the operation, but wanted to see me back in 3 months. Oh, no ejaculate upon climax which is no issue to me, but sensation is. There may not be a lot of point to sex of any kind without strong sensations. Maybe, I'm being selfish after all I have a much younger wife and I do not think the "I don't feel anything: excuse is going to comfort her. And I selected this procedure with great confidence that of all things my orgasms would not change which my surgeon confirmed in a face to face Q&A session. I will see how this works out, but I am strongly seeing a pattern in these comments of misrepresentation by ProCept BioRobotics and our surgeons. How do you all feel about how your expectations were set? Do you have any suggestions that might return feelings to my future orgasms?

My "procedure” was Urolift but similar problems. Don’t lose interest don’t make excuses. Make your wife as happy as you can regularly. There’s great pleasure in that. Happy wife, happy life. The human body often rebuilds itself puzzling the Drs. Keep that in mind. I do.

Note:
A study Many years ago quoted in Boardroom Reports said most men who die during sex are trying to achieve a result beyond their capability. Be careful Joseph. 😁 There may be a surprise in our future.
