Pari Trek Sprint treatment times

Posted by pled @pled, Mar 30, 2023

I just purchased a Pari Trek S portable nebulizer. It is taking about 15 minutes to nebulize 3ml of Albuterol and the information on the website led me to believe it would be less than 5 minutes. For those of you that have the Trek S and are using the Sprint nebulizer cup, what kind of treatment times are you experiencing?

My understanding from Pari is that the ProNeb Max takes the least time then the Vios and then the Trek. But I do not think it should take that long. If you call Pari they will send you another one and have you send back the one you have. I was having issues but discovered it was the sprint cups that were making it take so long. Also from what I understand you cannot use Mesh nebulizers with saline. However the Omron mesh does say it will work with saline. If I use the ProNeb it goes pretty fast with just saline (10 minutes or so).

When using the Pari Pro Neb Max, which cups are you using that only takes 10 minutes?

I was disappointed by the high cost of the portable battery attachment (more than the device!) So I took advantage of the included 12v car adaptor and for $22 got a reliable, proven USB 5v to 12v car plug! Then I just add a powerful USB power battery

I also have used the Pari pro neb and the Pari vios, and do find the pro neb to be faster. Of course that’s because I believe it puts out more psi from the compressor than the vios does. I tried the sprint cups, and yes it did only take 5 or so minutes, but I found that it didn’t seem to work as efficiently and effectively as the LC plus or LC star neb cups. Both made by Pari. Now a lot of this I think depends on how much mucus we produce AND how severe our BE is. If it is in the upper lobes or deep in the lower lobes, the ladder of course would make it harder to expel, and harder to get the medicine to. It really sucks we all have the bothersome devastating disease, but I pray we can all make the best of it. And LOVE the fact that we all have each other to help us during this difficult time.

Yes the Pro Neb Max is powerful and suited to longer usage. I run mine over 30 minutes in my morning session every day and it holds up well.

which pari cups do you think gets to the lower lobes of the lungs?

REPLY

I was told by a Pari representative that the Pari Star nebulizer is designed to get to the lower lobes. However I see NO difference between that one & the LC plus.
