Why was I granted a visit and then denied with no reason?

Parasitic infection. See here in Allentown PA with Lehigh Valley Hospital., ID won’t see me stating, “you don’t have a positive LAB test and we don’t see people who we don’t know what we don’t know we’re treating them for” despite about eight referrals from many different doctors for infectious disease to help them stating something systemic was happening. But Infectious Disease continued to deny me a visit but worked up a pre-existing diagnosis list to send to my health insurance and they listed “helmithiasis, unspecified, intestinal, parasitism unspecified. How does that make any sense to anybody in the world? Here’s the kicker after having all kinds of health issues and me complaining for years I had to have a cardiac ablation at 44 years old and a whole bunch of other terrible unexplained things happening to me it literally was making me crazy that they were watching me break down. I was an administrator and Director of nursing for a home health company, and they all knew me, but to cover their asses they would’ve rather let me die. Finally, one day I felt things crawling through my body. I ran to the ER cause it was late at night and told them I think they’ve been misdiagnosing me and they never helped me again. They kept saying my labs were negative and treating me like I was crazy all the while, watching my body breakdown and clearly seeing parasites in my stool, but saying it doesn’t matter what your stool looks like it matters what the lab says, they never helped me they never treated me so I had gotten severe damage throughout my entire body finally one of the PA’s in the doctors office pulled me aside and said you are not crazy. I have been watching all of this go to a functional medicine doctor. I got diagnosed immediately with babesiosis and anaplasmosis (2 life-threatening illnesses, by the way) but he insists that there’s something else that’s just not showing up on Labs. He treated me best he could and then sent a referral to Mayo Clinic. Mayo Clinic called me told me they were going to see me check me head to toe and to bring my daughter because she is ill as well a week later after they received my x-rays, etc. they sent me a letter denying me a visit with no reason listed. This is unbelievable that they wouldn’t at least tell me I was right instead of having me run around for two years, trying to get hel. LVH THAN ran me through the ringer, DOING MULTIPLE BLOOD DRAWS RUNNING ME THROUGH EVERY SYSTEM. THEY HAD RHEUMATOLOGY OBGYN ORTHOPEDICS X-RAYS FROM HEAD TO TOE AND THEN SENDING ME AROUND AND EVERYBODY LOOKING AT ME SAYING THERE’S NOTHING WRONG AND THEY WERE LYING. TRUST ME THEY WERE LYING SOME OF THE DOCTORS LOOK LIKE THEY WANTED TO CRY BECAUSE I’VE KNOWN THEM FOREVER ONE DOCTOR SAID GINA IT’S NOT THAT I DON’T BELIEVE YOU MY HANDS ARE TIED. throwing all evidence of any labs that lead to a diagnosis out the window stating it could be from this it could be from that I had high white blood cells, platelets abnormal leukocytes for a very long time, and they kept pushing them out the window I believe and it’s scary to believe this they knew they were misdiagnosing me and at this point, they were not gonna go back on their word so they ran me around like crazy treating me like I was crazy and continue to tell me nothing was wrong with me Eventually, I could barely walk. I HAVE HOLES IN MY EYES NOW THEY TOLD ME I HAVE OPEN ANKLE, GLAUCOMA, AND CATARACTS. MY ARMS ARE CONSTANTLY BURNING PAIN. MY HANDS ARE NUMB. I HAD TO QUIT MY JOB AND MOVE IN WITH MY MOM SO SHE COULD TAKE CARE OF ME AND I’LL NEVER BE ABLE TO WORK RIGHT AGAIN. THEY COMPLETELY PUSHED ME OUT OF THE SYSTEM IS WHAT THEY DID AND THEY’RE DOING IT TO MY DAUGHTER AS WELL AND NOW MAYO CLINIC, I THINK THERE’S JUST NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME NOW AND THAT’S WHY THEY’RE NOT SEEING ME BUT WHAT ABOUT MY DAUGHTER AND ME WE NEED THE CORRECT TREATMENT

It’s not Insurance. How can somebody just not help you? I have good insurance and secondary coverage with the VA. The fact that you saw, I could barely walk all of my joints, swollen with some very strange things. I wish I could show you what my elbows look like everything I was describing was very specific and the labs that were off were all very specific to a parasitic infection since everything else came back negative They literally would’ve rather had me die than to expose themselves and had that physician assistant not opened her mouth and sent me to a functional medicine doctor. I don’t know where I would be today, but I still need the correct diagnosis and the correct treatment because I’m still sufferingand then the pharmacy sent me the wrong dosage and duration and that caused some big problems but Mayo Clinic just broke my heart a little bit by the lady on the phone was kind of rude and Infectious Disease said the letter that was sent to you stands without giving me any reason why I was denied or what I should do next.

Please maybe they can’t help me with the parasitic infection because of the high Valley not treating me and it just getting so severe, but it has settled into my joint spaces and continues to deteriorate me because I need the correct diagnosis and treatment please help me because my daughter is slowly having the same issues and she would never be able to handle what I went through. Please help me.

I’m a good person. We are good family. Everybody knows where we live and has been watching this take place and it has devastated my family when this letter came in the mail after I told them the lady on the phone told me she would be getting me out to you guys ASAP and my daughter in with orthopedics because she didn’t have a referral because I do have a referral they were taking me. How can that change? It’s so cold hearted. I’m a nurse as well. I was administrator for my health company. This isn’t how it works. I don’t know why I am not given the opportunity for someone to at least sit down and explain things to me so that I am not searching the world for help. It’s almost 2 years straight every day I research and try to find help. Anytime I had a visit set up like with New York University, etc. after they spoke with my PCP they canceled the appointment with me with me because my PCP told them they did expensive testing and they think I’m crazy. Well, that’s just nuts. These people are covering themselves from misdiagnosing me for years and my daughter. And I don’t even care about any of that. We just want help.

bella13, others have had trouble with VA insurance. I think it has to be approved by VA first. But I may be way off. You and your daughter do need help. It seems like the rude person on the phone would have told you it was the insurance, but maybe didn't know. I'd keep calling from the numbers Colleen sent. At some point you'll get a different receptionist on the phone.

How old are you and your daughter?

Have you ever seen a neurologist for MRI of brain, EMG/nerve conduction studies of your upper/lower limbs and a small fiber neuropathy skin punch biopsy?

Have you ever seen a gastroenterologist and had an endoscopy and colonoscopy?

Have you seen an immunologist and hematologist?

Do you know why the doctor you know said their “hands are tied?” Tied from doing what?

Were you treated for babesiosis and anaplasmosis with antibiotics and anti parasitics?

Yes, it had nothing to do with the insurance. I even got a letter from the Infectious Disease team stating there is nothing more they could do for me has nothing to do with Insurance but I will call them Monday asking why they denied me when they’re the ones who called me due to a referral after obtaining my x-rays they denied me.
