Neuropathy Pain at Night: What helps?
THC or marijuana for me relieves pain from neuropathy. It works every time takes a few minutes and a few puffs of smoke and it comes it down for some crazy reason that makes this drug so popular.

Joe, thank you for sharing this info.
How long have you had your stimulator? Do you feel it was effective prior to the ALA injections?
My PT used what she called Class IV Laser Therapy (Red Light) and it really helped. It's definitely a machine for the professionals rather than what can be found on Amazon, with a cost of around $50,000. Gulp!
I have severe foot neuropathy in my feet burning numbness pins and needles it's horrible. from walking on floor joists and roof rafters for many years. what works for. y pain is a high dose of Gabapentin and Norco. Like I am saying it takes away the pain but not the numbness. I was in total hell until I started the gabapentin sleepless nights, again it was horrible 😫 !
Welcome @robertspen7, It's good to hear that the gabapentin provides relief for your neuropathy pain. I only have numbness with my neuropathy and it didn't help me at all so I stopped taking it after discussing it with the neurologist. There are some discussions on the numbness symptoms of neuropathy if you want to scan through them - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=neuropathy+numbness.
I am 86 years old and have been pretty healthy all these years until this neuropathy pain started a few months ago in my right wrist and hand. I have had sleep problems because the pain wakes me up after about one hour. I have had numbness in the right side of my body for a few years but no pain. I have tried the cbd oil and chewables for about a month with no difference in my pain. The pain happens when I lay down.
Hello @alme838, Welcome to Connect. I have pain in my hands and wrist at night but mine is more related to carpal tunnel syndrome. @bernese53 started a discussion on the condition that you might find helpful - Carpal tunnel release: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/carpal-tunnel-release/.
Have you seen a hand specialist or other doctor about the wrist and hand pain?
I have similar symptoms and use cyclobenzaprine 5 mg. one tablet at bedtime along with 2 extra strength Tylenol. This lets me sleep painlessly!
Gabapentin did nothing for me.
Be happy for less pain, the numbness might not improve. I have no pain so I can live with numbness in my toes and finger tips.
I have found that Mama Bear ointment helps me so much..especially at night time when my feet burn so much. I have had peripheral neuropathy since 2004. For me this has helped immensely.
Also 86 years with Non-diebetic PN for about 10 years. It’s now progressed from my toes to about midcalf. Hands are also an issue but feet are worse. Night pain in both feet begins in heels and top of arches after abut two hours every night. For those who haven’t tried this, I have had some had success with taking two Tylenols nightly and resting my ankles on a rolled up blanket with my feet hanging over the end. All I need is about a one and a half inch roll, just enough to keep my heels off the mattress, and that’s enough most nights to keep my pain away and improve sleeping. Won’t work for everyone but likely will help for some and it’s free.
