Collagen for osteoporosis?

Posted by cpb @cpb, Jul 26, 2021

My friend's medical doctor has her take collagen for her bones. I decided to try it and wondered if anyone knows more than I do about this.

I wouldn't take Forteo because I take Synthroid for hypothyroidism. I hope it helps you.

@patmacastclk, I'm wondering why you wouldn't take Forteo with Synthroid. I am taking Forteo with Tirosint which is a brand name for Levothyroxine like Synthroid.

Just make sure you supplement with whatever else you need as well for the collagen to work inside your body such as calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3 and K2, and vitamin C. Otherwise, the collagen alone won't do the trick. That's actually where I'm at. I'm reading a book entitled 'The Healthy Bones' Nutrition Plan and Cookbook by Laura Kelly and Helen Bryman Kelly and it's been extremely informative. Wishing you nothing but the best!

Because I would be afraid of a drug interaction.
