mayo Clinic blood test to confirm his suspicion that I am med to high
I have a 5x6mm lung nodule. Sent an (insurance pay )blood test to Mayo Clinic. I'm still waiting on the report. I would like to know the results. Anxiety is killing me. It's been two and a half weeks. My Dr said it would be " within" 2 weeks. Has anyone else had experience with this?

I believe 30mm is the point where they want to ensure it isn't cancer. Lung nodules are common and mostly benign. It's good to get it checked. I have one as well and they told me they would follow up at a later time (maybe in 6 months/1 year) to see if there are any changes. Do you have any lung function symptoms?
Hello @neaner , As stew80 mentioned, most nodules are not cancerous, but I understand your concern. The waiting can be very difficult. Many doctors take action once the nodule is around 1cm, until then they monitor it with CT scans every few months. Thankfully, yours is still very small.
Have you reached out to your doctor's office about the delay in the results?
what is name of the blood test?
I don't know. He said they could confirm that I am at medium to high risk for cancer, and a few oth3r things
I believe it is called the Biodesix Blood Test which apparently is extremely accurate..Unfortunately it is not available in Canada where I live yet but is covered in the USA..Hoping we can get it here soon..so much less invasive than a biopsy..Best of Luck
