I am healthy 51 or donating my kidney to my husband who's 52. I know it'll be painful but any good/bad results doing this. P lease let me know

@chastitynicolemorris @beneita Plesse take some time to also check out out Transplants support group! You will find several threads and conversations there that may be of interest to you as you go through this journey.

Hi Chasity. I donated 3 years ago and experienced no bad results. I had the normal surgical recovery, but was back to home and work (desk) in a few weeks. It was only painful when getting out bed & only for the first couple weeks. It wasn't a known person recipient, so that would be a difference. 2 people recovering in a household will be different, I think. You'll want to be sure to not do too much too early in your healing.
