Has anyone had success with Mirtazapine?

I have insomnia and my doctor asked me to try Mirtazapine 7.5 mg. along with Temazepam which I take nightly.
However, when I read about Mirtzapine, it seems to me that it can be somewhat dangerous and is used for depression. I don't have depression.
What do you think?

Mirtazapine is the only medication that has finally allowed me to get sleep. Tried many different things and am happy that I’m off benzos. My doctors are fine with being on it indefinitely. I’m on 7.5 mg for over two years. I do feel groggy most of morning but it’s worth it to me. I’m actually going to see if I can reduce the dosage when I meet with my sleep Dr later this month
