I was on Cymbalta 60 mg each night for 26 years after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and Coxsacki B enterovirus. I went off the Cymbalta several times during that time thinking it wasn't working for me but each time I went off my pain jumped by triple. I have had 6 spinal surgeries and still have bone spurs and herniated disks in my spine so I am in pain all the time. I went off the Cymbalta again about 2 years ago on my doctor's advice and since being off of it I have had no heartburn (which I suffered with for all those 26 years and had to take Nexium for). I am in more pain than I was in when taking the Cymbalta but at least I am now off of two medications. I was also taking 600 mg of Gabapentin every night for the pain and now I am down to 300 mg. I am living with the pain and it isn't fun but there are only so many medications one can take and they all have side effects. If one can get off of all but essential medications like thyroid, diabetes, heart etc. you will be better off.

Thanks. I agree. The less meds the better. I have to take a blood thinner because I had a pulmonary embolism 1 yr ago. It came out of nowhere. I was sick for a month & went to 4 different Drs. No one diagnosed me correctly until I ended up in the emergency room and could not breathe. It was a nightmare.

Trying to get off of Effexor has been a problem too. I’m Glad you are off the Antidepressants. My Dr wants me to take Cymbalta instead. I don’t want to be on anything. I’m used to being in pain. I just live with it.

I fell & Fractured my back 2 yrs ago. I already had back problems, degenerative disc disease & scoliosis. I have had Fibromyalgia for 30 years, Chronic fatigue & migraines etc. I also have very painful neuropathy Not diabetic It’s not fun growing old. I haven’t been the same since I broke my back. Take care
