My dentist told me about Cymbalta for my peripheral neuropathy when I mentioned my gabapentin didn’t help much. I’ve been taking it ever since. It’s provided much needed relief for my legs and ability to walk around but I still can’t walk far.

First two months of treatment we thought “This” was the wonder drug! Two months later my wife could not walk over 100. Ft. Or care for her own personal needs. Please study this drug there are literally hundreds of pages of true patients harmful effects. She got off the drug by cold turkey but was literally dying due to cymbalta.

I'm so sorry your wife had side effects and Cymbalta was not meant for her.

As with any medication, everyone is different in what helps them.

Cymbalta has been successful for my depression, anxiety and peripheral neuropathy in my feet. I noticed a very positive effect on the above 3. I also take gabapentin but have not felt a difference in taking it.

So glad to hear you are doing well on Cymbalta. I am only on day 4 of Cymbalta 60 mg. Just wondering how long it took for your full pain benefit to occur.
Best to you.

I am taking clonazepam which I would like to taper off and low dose gabapentin. I hoped Cymbalta could enable me to stop gabapentin and clonazepam.

I was on Klonopin for a 30 yrs. Yes that's not a typo. I have had panic attacks since I was 16 yrs old but didn't start Klonopin until I was 30. I took 05 mg 3 times a day and was under my psychiatrist care. I was diagnosed with IC and after trying several treatments that didn't involve medication I was r
Referred to the pain mgt. Clinic. The doctor asked me if I had ever tried or heard of lyrica. No to both those questions so I tried it and gave been on for 2 yrs. The thing about lyrics is that it treats the pain but also treated my anxiety. So with my doctor I weened off of Klonopin. I don't know which is more addictive as they both are in my book. But if I can take 1 drug that helps with multipurpose results that us the one that I will take. Good luck with Klonopin. I hope that you too are being seen by a doctor. Anxiety disorder us real and can really limit living a full life

Thanks. I am doing great. Tapered off clonazepam easily. I tried lyrica but I did not feel well on that rx. I ended up seeing a neurologist and was diagnosed with a phrenic nerve injury and am using gabapentin and low dose naltrexone. Glad you are doing well!

That’s awful. I came here to read about Cymbalta. The Drs prescribe these meds like they are candy. I’m afraid to take it After reading what your wife went through!
. I’m glad she is doing better. I misread the dates on these comments. Sorry I’m a year late! Take care

It is not a pain pill. It does not instantly provide pain relief. If you have Fibro, I believe we must find a "toolbox" of ways to combat pain. Finding a good support group is an excellent and much needed thing.

Agree! Is there a support group for Fibromyalgia?
Thanks & sending gentle hugs. 🤗
