Hi Marilyn,
That's too bad that you had scarlet fever and measles! And, so young too! My mom had scarlet fever also in 1946 right after I was born. We both almost died when I was being born. In fact, the doctor did think I was dead until the nurse told him, "The baby moved!" Then he started saving me and I screeched which woke my mother up from the drugs they had given her for pain. She yelled, "Shut that damn kid up!" not realizing it was me, of course. She left the hospital with scarlet fever and was very sick and in bed for a couple months. We lived with my grandparents at that time. My father was out fighting WWII. I got confused and thought my grandmother was my mother and that my mother was my sister. My mother fought very hard but she got well. I finally figured out that she really was my mother. We became very close all the rest of her life. She wasn't as lucky as you as far as her health was concerned. She died at age 70 of pulmonary emphysema and arteriosclerosis. I took care of her for 15 years. I'm so glad we had that time together. I still miss her.
I'm glad that you are doing so well!

4 Reactions@itchyd do you mean noise cancelling headphones? Can’t go around wearing headphones everywhere I go! Unfortunately my ears cannot tolerate (hey, another intolerance I have!) ear buds or ear plugs either.

3 ReactionsYou can get noise-cancelling earbuds. They're generally not considered as effective as a pair of plain old foam inserts. I just wear the standard foam plugs that I used for decades working in loud industrial environments. Again, I've never tried noise-cancelling earbuds. So, I'd do some research first.
Good luck, Rashida!
That was pretty much the objective, right?
Maybe try some meditation techniques?
I know less than zero about stuff like that.
Good luck!

1 Reaction@itchyd I cannot have anything inside my ears, like earbuds, ear plugs (even the soft, silicone type), etc.. They either pop out, or I end up with a headache. I am sensitive to touch, too. I can wear headphones but not for too long.
