Does anybody’s muscle feel like lead and going up the steps feels like weight on your legs?

I need to use a Rollator when leaving the house. Without it I can only walk a very short distance - before needing to sit for a few minutes. As well as being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I also have degenerative disc disease, my lower back facet joints are pretty much kaput, the doctors have added chronic kidney disease stage 3, together with left ventricle hypertrophy plus, very recently - macrocytosis. I really should add that I soon will celebrate my 79th birthday so, I guess, all the above is not really surprising. 😊

Yes and all the same diagnosis' except kidneys.
I feel it especially in my calves. They feel like they aren't even part of my body. Just a big lump of lead!

Yes, I do have that feeling in my arms and/ or legs when I am fatigued or the day after I have done too much. I look at it as my body telling me it is time to rest or sleep. The symptoms usually go way after I have slept, used my grounding mat.

In general, doing body weight exercises, stretching, and walking helps keeps my energy levels up. Movement is one of the best medicines. Set incremental goals which challenge you but, do not wear you out.

I had it some days in my leg muscles, but some days, nothing. It was when I tried to run, years ago. Now I know i have heart failure, so... This problem was maybe was more a problem of oxigenation more then with my fibromyalgia... Complexe.

Yeah you wonder sometimes about all the different aches and pains. It’s quite annoying and scary at times😞

Yes, and it’s horrible. Both of my knees needed surgery. (Bone on bone) I replaced one, and had to wait for the other because my husband had major spinal surgery followed by both hips replaced. I am his only care giver.

@whoareyou Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I’m glad you found this site. Wow I can’t believe you were(are) the caregiver for 3 major surgeries! I’m exhausted just thinking about it. You probably have lots of tips to pass on. BTW, did you ever get your second knee fixed?

Yes mine do all the time. Especially the lower part of my body. Revitive medic helps a little and i am trying my footspa tonight. Will let you know the outcome.

Yes! I know I need to exercise more but it's so painful and the depression doesn't help either. I'm not giving up though. I'm going to try to walk more. Baby steps right?
