My feet only itch at night, usually around the same time at night when they do itch. It is not every night either. Only one foot itches at a time and it is only the top and side where the ankle is. Very strange. The itching comes on suddenly and it feels like a bad case of dermatitis. The itching goes away after about 1 hour. I use a brillo pad to itch my foot when it happens. My foot gets really hot too, even if I do not itch it at all. I cannot figure out what causes this.
