Anyone currently battling bile duct cancer? I would love to speak to discuss your experiences. I was just recently diagnosed in June.

Thank you. Unfortunately because of the size of his spot they can't do robotic surgery. He will be having a port put in next week and then hopefully start chemo soon after. It's been a slow process or it seems that way to me. I am looking forward to meeting with the oncologist and getting a lot of questions answered. Thank you for your response.

@mscluppy, how did it go with getting the port installed? Has your husband started treatment? How are YOU doing?

The port went in ok. We have an appointment on the 20th with the oncologist where he will have treatment. We will know then when he will start his chemo.

Dear @journey2025

In October 2024, I had a radical bile duct resection that included a Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy and other surgical procedures at Mayo Rochester for my cholangiocarcinoma. My family and I could not be more pleased with the surgery, recovery, and outcome.

Welcome, @lorid01. Your story offers hope. I'm encouraged that you are living your life and post treatment feel great with no limitations. I think it is perfectly normal to think, even if only periodically, about a possible recurrence or return somewhere else.

I'm tagging fellow members like @afrancesca @kjrita @egoodies @jerrydrennan @kennym who can share their experiences too.

Lori, how often do you have follow-up appointments?

Colleen can you include me in your group of cholangiocarcinoma patients /caregivers? My husband was diagnosed a month ago. I would really like to connect with some people who have been through this who can help us and give us some guidance. Thank you so much, Elisabetta

@elizabettagrace, of course. By posting here, you are included. This must be all so new for both of you. And scary.

How are you and your husband doing? What treatments will your husband be having?
