Inconsiderate, intimidating neighbors cause depression and anxiety?

Update: The men are still here. It looks like though they may be moving things out. I made a tentative change of plans for later today but I think if I get back by dark I should be ok, On the other hand as I have indicated, day or night does not matter to these men. In fact in daylight they can see better. Witnesses? That definitely does not matter one bit to these men.

I can't wait until this is over! Two days and a half left.

Update: It's not official but it is believed all the men are now gone!

As noted in a recent update I will confirm with the landlord. I should know for sure early next week.

Update: Tonight I went out and it's so calm in front of the building. Something definitely happened and it's not like any other evening in the past months. Even the grass and trees are quiet! I can't even remember what it was like before these awful people moved in but I'm loving it right now! It's not official yet but I'm going to call it over!

As soon as I have confirmation it's over I will post again.

Update: No confirmation yet but I'm 99.9% sure they're gone! One thing I learned today was the building was, and still is, likely under constant surveillance the last weeks. That may have gone a long away to driving these people out.

PML: I believe for sure they are gone! I will be still be careful until I get confirmation from the landlord though. It's like a different apartment complex now and I have almost no fear and anxiety of going out and coming back now.

Most harassments by neighbors are considered against the law. Restraining orders are another way to get your message across. Obtaining a lawyer to draft a letter stating the fact you’re going to sue will again reinforce the fact of harassment. Door cam or video maybe also would help. It’s a hassle dealing with creeps. Go to lengths to justify your rights shouldn’t happen. But it will escalate in some instances.

Harassment is definitely against the law where I live. The problem can be proving it. How do you prove someone says something threatening as you walk by? Cameras are really good but do not always capture it, or present correctly, and there are also laws about using cameras in apartment complexes.

Retraining orders? If someone is that "bad" to need such an order is a piece of paper going to stop them? Maybe, hopefully, in practice it does for most situations. In my case that wouldn't do anything and in fact would make it worse. These people have lots of angry and wacked out friends, too. They don't care about anyone or anything.

This nightmare is over here thank goodness! I am just waiting for official confirmation from the landlord. I will update soon.

Update: Maintenance just informed me that the men have moved out and the apartment the men lived in is now empty! I'm still waiting to hear from the landlord but it's over! Hooray! (well, let's hope the men don't come back for a "social visit").

Thank you everyone who followed this post. It gave me so much comfort when I was all alone dealing with this in an unfamiliar city far from where I used to live. A special thank you to PML for your prayers. It did take some time, as you knew, but the prayers were finally answered! Good triumphed over evil!

I have all the empathy in the world for anyone experiencing a similar situation. Bad neighbors like I experience destroy the right of safety and happiness of their neighbors. While most people will never experience something as bad as this I'm sure the problem exists all over the world and many people need help because they are unequipped to deal with. This was all new to me, and quite a shock. I will post soon a simple formula that is based on what what was used here to rid this neighborhood of this awful situation.
