I have elevated EBV and am 75 years of age.
I am a VERY active older adult and was blindsided by EBV about 6 months ago. Symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, limited concentration, depression and lack of gusto. I see that there are MANY online groups and patients trying a variety of supplements and "remedies". I am asking if. there are ANY known proven methods (other than sleep and hydration) that I pursue to improve my quality of life. Thanks very much

Thanks, this is pretty standard stuff. Looking for Anyone who has tried and true formulas...
@josiah49
Good luck getting tried and true formulas. Everyone is different so what works for one does not work for all.
Have you been prescribed any medication for depression? Are you seeing a dietitian to evaluate your nutrition? Do you have a counselor? Are you getting exercise or physical therapy? Did your doctor do blood tests to see if you are deficient or if you have any abnormal results?
I'm vegetarian and diet is excellent; I walk a mile and row every morning; bloodwork is good (slightly elevated cholesterol, working on that). I am drinking plenty of water, and sleeping 8+ every night. I'm taking 1000mg Vitamin C, 2400 mcg Vitamin A, 800mg Echinacea, 4200mg Ashwagandha and 100mcg Vitamin D3. Plus 10mg Lexapro for past 7-8 years.
@josiah49
You sound like you are doing a lot of great things for your health and can teach us a thing or two. 😉
Keep up the great work! 🙂
Do you take a probiotic or b12 since you are a vegetarian? Have you had a full iron panel done in your bloodwork? CBC doesn’t tell the whole story of how well oxygen is getting around where it needs to go.
Hello, my EBV was triggered 4 years ago from COVID. I am still working on getting it to go dormant. I see an MD who is also a functional doctor.
I get high dose Vitamin C IV’s and it helps tremendously with my fatique. I have also done UBI ( https://riordanclinic.org/what-we-do/ultraviolet-blood-irradiation/) after the first time I was diagnosed and that worked to put my EBV dormant. This time around I am fighting the spike protein that triggered my EBV. So, we are trying to get rid of the spike protein along with battling my EBV.
I use methylene blue for concentration and focus(however you can NOT use this if you are on an antidepressant).
I also use nicotine patches I do not smoke but they have found the nicotine helps absorb virus/spike protein. (patches that only have nicotine nothing else so it is not addictive. I use Rugby brand .https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/push-label-rx-treat-long-covid-what-works-2024a1000m35?form=fpf It gives me energy. Here is a an article from medscape using nicotine patches for long covid. Traditional medicine is starting to use unconventional methods.
I take gaba to help with stress. I take it throughout the day. The book
The Epstein Barr Virus Solution by Dr. Kasia Kines is helpful and informative.
I know how frustrating EBV is and send you hugs and persistence. Stay positive. And, know you are not alone.
Thanks so much Tricia!
I’m going to do vitamin C IV next…. And will look into your other protocols!
