Ivermectin for Prostate Cancer? (Being studied)

Best of luck with things . Always check with your doctor before trying new things . I started using a new Pre-workout powder , great stuff that the Dr said was OK for me ... but I noticed that it had 'testosterone enhancing ' drugs in it . I questions him again , and he said maybe switch back to the other one I used . I scrapped them both and just have a coffee before the workout for the extra gas in the tank . I guess my point is even Dr's cannot keep up with every substance on the market . God Bless and good luck with Orgovyx. Heard some good things about it , depleting testosterone .

Any help with Stage IV prostate metastasized. nothing is working. Anyone try Ivermectin or other non conventional drugs?

The short answer is researchers are studying Ivermectin to see if it may be used as an anti-cancer drug and early studies show promise. Please note that this research is in the early stages (mice studies) and has not yet been tested in human trials. Ivermectin is not a proven standard treatment for prostate cancer.

Hey buddy, There are lots of anecdotal stories on the net about Ivermectin but so far they’re just stories.
I totally get where you’re coming from - try anything at this point, right? But this is probably not the answer. I don’t know what treatments you’ve had but some guys on this forum have had “triplet therapy” using chemo in combination with specific hormone drugs or Pluvicto.
Just to respectfully ask, were you treated at a center of excellence - like a Mayo, Sloan, Andersen type center- or by your local doc/urologist? Going to one of these hospitals can make a much greater impact on your longevity than some unproven dewormer. Best

U of M is a good one….even chemo had no effect?

Never was offered that. Radiation and different drugs. Now hemoglobin is low and they won’t treat cancer. Too dangerous they say. Only blood transfusions which isn’t going to help stop cancer growth.

My own PSA rose from 7.9 in October '24 to 10.5 in January '25. I'm worried; looks like mine is more aggressive than yours (8.1 to 9.6 in six months), mentioned in tvz 2014 post.
My primary care physician referred me to a urologist who took biopsy specimens on Feb 14, 2025; tests result is a Gleason score of 7 (3+4). The uro has referred me to an oncologist, who will see me for my initial consultation next week.
I am hoping for the best, that the oncologist can help/lead me to the right treatment. Those of you in this support group, who also had a Gleason score of 7 (3+4), care to share your journey?

Docetaxel is what is usually given; don’t know if you are strong enough to handle it.
Since you’ve been treated at UM, I’m assuming you’ve consulted with a medical oncologist?
Perhaps blood transfusions would make you stronger to receive additional therapy?

Just information that made sense to me: Some Med Schools like MD Anderson have Urologic Oncology Fellowships. I know that some of the doctors at Mayo Rochester and Phoenix have been through this additional training. Even if referred to a Oncologist, I prefer a Urologist that has this additional training and insight as a backstop.
