Any advice for me in Ireland who doesn’t feel heard or understood?

Hi there, no point in hiding so I’m going to say I’m Stefan and currently living in Ireland. I have follow Mayo Clinic for a while in terms of better understanding how mental health. I really don’t feel I’m heard and understood so it frustrates me. I’m just wondering if anyone would have advice on how to feel valued and not just a waste of time? I have tried all the usual methods.

Hi, Stefan. Could you give us a little more context.
If you are heard and misunderstood, there are ways to increase your powers of expression. If you just feel like no one cares enought to listen, that's a usual enough complaint to be considered normal health.
If you "pretend" that no one is ever going to listen and understand, it can make you very quiet and enhance your own listening powers. Is there someone that you value and listen to carefully.
Some find their sense of value in work that helps others.
Others get interactive pets. Dogs are especially valued in this context
If you have children, you get a couple of good years of listening before the many years of opposition.
What are the usual methods that you have tried?
Can you tell us what it is that you wish the people who surround you would hear and understand?

So I have speech problems with my cleft palate but apart from that, I don’t feel heard or understood when I want to talk about what’s happening with me or why I feel sad sometimes. I know people care about me but no one really knows or understands my feelings and the pain of trying to talk about things like my childhood PTSD etc. I value a lot of people, but I also don’t want to waste their time when they’re busy. I just rather help others with their needs before helping myself cause of how I was raised in the orphanage tbh.

My heart goes out to you for what you endured through your life. I can't imagine what you've gone through.
I do understand that in this produce and consume modern world we live in there is constantly changing mannerisms and behavioral conduct which leads to more and more social isolation and in communication especially with cellphones and computer technologies which one would think would bring better interpersonal communication and unity where to the contrary it's evident that many people's minds from early on now in our days are programmed to disconnect from people face to face and don't listen actively engaged sadly.

Just hard

Yes, hard Stefan. One interesting idea that you've conveyed is that you understand why things make you feel a particular way. That a great advantage. I'd find your understanding interesting. But it might be too personal to write here. Still, I hope you are writing it at least for yourself.
Somtimes caring people are troubled by such revelations because they don't know any way to help. Sometimes they panic for not knowing how they should respond.

Thank you and tbh my own problem is that I’m too self aware and I hurt myself emotionally and mentally by always thinking about everything. I do write yes but I just can’t talk to people unless I feel comfortable in the moment but I don’t have confidence all the time though

Orphanages in Belarus are not safe for any child. They lack proper hygiene facilities and medical care for children, the food is at the bare minimum

Hello:
Not much good advice, but what do you think about reading to the elderly or inferm? They would appreciate a story, since some can no longer read, and you would be heard. 🙂
Good luck, Stefan. I hope you find your 'thing'.
