Breathing problem: Silent Reflux a hidden epidemic

Can you clear up one little part of the post?
It says:
“The fact is that once the correct diagnosis is made, effective anti-reflux treatment can permanently cure this asthma-like breathing problem.”

Then at the end it says:
“… doctors often employ pills, usually the wrong pills, that rarely correct the problem. In truth, reflux medications are grossly misused and over-used today.”

These are conflicting. I am just confused, and a little hopeless.
Thank you.

Good morning, and welcome to Mayo Connect. I had to look for a bit, and found the earlier post you were quoting from, but since the original writer did not cite their source, I can't answer your questions directly. This member hasn't posted here for nearly five years, so I'm not sure you will get a reply.

May I ask a few questions, and we will see if you can get help from others with Silent Reflux?

Have you been diagnosed with a form of reflux, and if so, what treatment has been recommended? And are you experiencing asthma-like symptoms or other lung issues that may be related to your reflux?
