I feel like I'm dying
i am a healthy (I thought) 43 year old female. 2 weeks ago I was at work. Stood up. Got this pulled muscle sensation in my back around my bra strap area. I then proceeded to have chest pain, shortness of breath, flushed, sensation of hot liquid seeping out into my chest, dizziness, and numb and tingly all over my body. I felt like I was gonna pass out or die. I was rushed to the ER. After several tests, and an overnight stay, they discharged me the next day with Synthroid (thyroid just a tad low) and Flexeril for my back pain. I still had the shortness of breath. But they assured me my heart and lungs were fine. Did not do any x-rays or anything for my back. The next day I was pretty much laid out at home due to the flexeril. The following day, I decided to go back to work. Got up, took a shower, then I started having all the same symptoms as before. I had my son take me to the ER again. They did several tests, said my heart and lungs were fine. The doctor diagnosed me with GERD, and sent me home with Prilosec. I took Prilosec for 4 days, then my PCP had me try Protonix, which by the way, both of these gave me horrible side effects (confusion, delirium-hallucinations) and were not helping my stomach pain and nausea. So, she started me on Zantac, which worked wonders the first couple of days, but seems to have worn off now too. Also, after numerous testing, doctor said my Vitamin D was low, was 11, and should be between 30-80. So I started taking Vitamin D3--400 units. 2 weeks later, I have been to the ER three times, had an endoscopy just yesterday (doctor said everything looked fine, but sending off stomach sample for biopsy). Still taking Zantac, and Vitamin D. Trying to eat more foods rich in Vitamin D and calcium. I continue to have nausea, stomach pains, body very weak, losing weight, diarrhea, dizziness, flushed and feel like passing out. I can't sleep, and feel very dehydrated. Every morning I feel like I'm dying with these symptoms. It feels as though it hurts from deep inside my muscles or bones, even my joints in my fingers and elbows hurt. Closer to noon, I feel a little better, try to eat a little something, then it starts all over around 9 or 10 in the evening, and keeping me up all night. I WAS TOTALLY FINE UNTIL 2 WEEKS AGO, THEN ALL THIS STARTED HAPPENING. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE? I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I FEEL LIKE I'M JUST GONNA SHRIVEL UP AND DIE.

I’m sorry for your situation. I have a lot in common with you and unfortunately it can take a lot to diagnose. My situation is still similar and I have only been validated on three major issues. Some things I may never know. A lot of the time, Traditional Drs only look for what is in their skill set and too much of the time, they are not taking a holistic approach. With our health-care system, they barely even look at your background, even if you provide extensive information. I am trying to work with functional medicine doctors that are DOs or MDs as well. I know how much it sucks to be ill and micro manage and be pre-active with your health. I at least know that I have chronic pain from wearing a back brace that prevented me from becoming a hunchback. It took 25 years before a physical therapist figured that out. I also have always had Chronic Fatigue. I was getting by and then I was pressured into having radiation for breast cancer, even though, I wanted quality of life over quantity. Any cancer specialist should have known that with my background that I should only have had surgery. I also have PTSD, which the people closest to me caused by “trying to help me”. This is a tough one. If alternative therapies become available, like guided psilocybin, I would try that because I have done them before. If there is a mental connection, I would carefully seek treatment there as well. For my chronic IBS and other things, the mystery is still unsolved. I so hope you are able to figure this out and get rid of it. Be careful and pro-active.
Get a smart sensor to wear on wrist that monitors your heart and blood pressure and keep a long of reasons. Hyoscyamine dissolved under the tongue taken in morning and 30 minutes prior to meals … need doctors prescription.
Keep a log of readings……correction
Try to see an endocrinologist perhaps ?
Buy an Apple Watch and take the ecg when you feel off kilter . It goes to the health app on your iPhone . Also can take heart rate & O2 on it .
Can save all and show your Dr.
I have so many health chronic illnesses 11 years. Each day a struggle . 🙏🙏
I had a very similar experience last year followed ny numerous unsuccessful visits to the ER. It turned out that the sudden back pain was not musculoskeletal but came from the diaphragm and was caused by a hiatus hernia, with the stomach totally displaced to the wrong side of the diaphragm, upside down and twisted. The "pain event" may have been the final break-through. I had a minimally invasive operation 4 months later, and THE PAIN HAS COMPLETELY GONE, although the re-adaptation of the body to the stomach being in the correct place after probably being in the wrong one for decades - I am 87 -is long and arduous. Digestion still not back to mormal nearly 5 months later because of nerves being disturbed by the operation and re-adjustment. Worth investigating?
Thanks.
The smart watch and anything proactive you can do are excellent suggestions. It is also so helpful to hear what others are sharing about their medical situation.
I should add, so many people have good suggestions! I didn’t “like” them all since there are so many.
Just want to wish the group well and thank you all for sharing.
