I'm wondering if anyone has tried CBD oil for tremors? My father in law has agent orange and has terrible tremors

Anyone have success with Rick Simpson Oil for Parkinson's or essential tremors?

I have both (mildly) and someone recently recommended I give Rick Simpson Oil and wanted to check on other people's thoughts and experiences.

Hi, @davidmc1954 - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. When were you diagnosed with Parkinson's and essential tremor? What have been the major symptoms you've experienced that you were wondering about treating with the oil?

@suebullmc - your husband is lucky to have a wife who cares about him so much. Will you share more about what is going on with your him and his health?

Essential Tremors - probably 11 years ago

Parkinson - about 5 years ago by Mayo

My husband Kevin has Parkinson's: he is a Marine. Served at Camp LeJeune. We were married October 22, 2022. I read his portal prior to marrying him so I knew what I was getting! A fine, loving man who has strong faith and is so easy going; my opposite. His balance is not the best and he tends to fall backwards. He just finished physical therapy to work on it. He was having trouble with hallucinations but we discovered Nuplazid via the Michael J. Fox Foundation website. It really works for him. A few tremors but not daily or even weekly. We eat at home and cook from scratch: he is also diabetic and had PAD. At 71, we are happy and enjoying life and each other.

@davidmc1954 - thanks for the further information on your conditions. I'm sorry to hear the tremors are annoying. That makes sense.

davidmc1954, you will note that I've moved your new discussion to this one so you can talk with other members who are discussing similar types of oils for tremors. Did the person who told you about Rick Simpson oil talk about it helping just tremors, or other symptoms, as well?

@suebullmc - that is interesting that you read your husband's medical portal before marrying him and thus knew what you were getting. Very transparent on his part. My husband and I also are opposites in a similar way: he's the easy going one, I'm more Type A. It works as a nice balance.

suebullmc, I'm glad you found a medication that helps your husband's hallucinations. Since you mentioned he had PAD (I'm assuming you meant peripheral artery disease), you might be interested in this Mayo Clinic Connect discussion in the Heart & Blood Health support group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/anyone-deal-with-pad/. As you also talked about diabetes, you might check out the discussions in this group, as well https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/diabetes-and-endocrine-problems/.

i so understand the tremors in your hands. so aggravating. you end up having to repeat everything over and over. whether it's eating, drinking water or if you're lucky coffee. you name it you end up repeating it. i had to stop cooking because it is so bad, i was trying to dish up the food and it ended up on the floor. for the price of food it's not worth it. good luck @davidmc1954.

@lisalucier, is there a specific CBD oil for the tremors. I mean brand name or whatever else there might be. Thanks.
