All fresh fruit is gluten-free; however it can be sprayed with a high gluten wheat starch that helps the fruit retain its color and acts as a preservative. It is considered a “natural ingredient” because it’s wheat. Also sprayed on veggies; companies don’t have to list it as an ingredient because the veggies are sprayed by the farmers before they’re sold to the company; that’s how we get a lot of “all natural veggie/fruit products” on labels. Hope this helps🌻

Do you have any links to info on high gluten wheat starch being sprayed on produce? I know they are often sprayed with various chemicals. But I have never heard of produce being sprayed with wheat starch. I can’t find anything about it thru a Google search or even on the website Celiac.com.

I also have celiac and have been on a GF diet for over 20 years. I’ve done a lot of research on celiac disease and have never come across any information like that. And I have never had a reaction to fresh produce that I am aware of.
