For mild/moderate COPD, does Mullein tea/tincture help clear lungs?
Background-RLower lobectomy 8 months ago Stage 1A NCLC w/mild to moderate COPD/Emphazima (not being treated for). I guess I'm still having post surgery effects from lobectomy as far as right rib discomfort, chest tightness, but experiencing some shortness of breath depending on what I'm doing, so I guess I attribute that to the surgery, but also the COPD. I was a smoker for decades, & I still smoke 4-6 a day after no success with patches. Has anyone used Mullein to loosen mucus & to clear lungs, help with breathing etc? You can use it as a tea or a tincture. I want to try it, but am wondering for COPD, have you tried it? I want it to be safe, but effective

Hi @denise96, I moved your question about mullein tea to this existing discussion:

I did this so you can read previous helpful post and connect with members talking about COPD.

I also have heard about using mullien for lung relief. It seems to be fairly safe. I am a member of consumer lab online and read their article on it. They also it is fairly safe, but as always you should talk to your doctor. Also read that drinking pineapple juice helps with mucous also. It has bromlein in it and I guess that is what helps. Researched mullien on amazon and read many reviews. Some people swore by it working and some not so much. For now, I will stick to the pineapple juice. 4 oz in am and 4 oz in pm. If nothing else, it should help with constipation. Drinking green tea helps also. Liptons green tea is their top pick.
That is what my diagnosis is also . Going to check into the tea
I use a mullein and thyme vape instead of smoking cigaretts. It has helped me quite smoking and I find it soothing as far as my lungs are concerned.
I’ve had great success using mullein and thyme air diffuser. It has helped me quite smoking for the most part. I to have cut back to 3 cig a day. I just get so depressed giving the smokes up for good.
You could try Oregano oil drops (2) in a bowl of hot water, cover head and breathe in.
Thanks, that is a good thing to know. Have you ever tried it?
Evening folks. Here’s the Cleveland Clinics article on mullein:

I just ordered the organic, non alcohol tincture of mullein leaf and flowers. Let you know my opinion in a month.
Denise96 I take two organic oil of oregano caps daily. It
has anti microbial, antifungal and antibacterial properties. I take it along with Roflumilast 500 mcg, and Trelegy prescribed by my awesome pulmonologist .
Btw lemon, ginger and bromeline are also good for mucus clearing. I’d love to find an inexpensive tincture of those plus the mullein.
Do you buy the lemon ginger and bromide in a mixture and what does it do?I tried someone else’s suggestion to pineapple juice twice daily as an alternative to mullein. It works well. 4oz twice a day.
