I just googled "What causes AFib?" and here was a list.
High blood pressure, Hyperthyroidism, Coronary disease, Heart valve disease, Sleep apnea, Heart failure, Obesity, Alcohol, Diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Stress, Age, Chronic kidney disease, Excessive exercise, Smoking, Surgery, Heavy alcohol intake, Medicine, caffeine, tobacco, or alcohol, Pericarditis, Sick sinus syndrome, Family history, Heart attack, Viral infections
I look at the list and see if anything pertains to me. I do not have high blood pressure, but if I did I would google "How to lower blood pressure" Mine is very low but due to my diet. But if it was high, google what diet to be on to lower it. If you cut out the garbage foods, cut out or way down animal products like dairy, meat, etc, it will come down and do some walking each day. But google and read on many sites, and start doing all you can. Habits usually don't change overnight, but work on it. I have sleep apnea but alleviate it by being angled up with 2 pillows. It works as good as CPAP machine which my sister had and hated it. It mentions caffeine. I eliminate all. Listed is hyperthyroidism. Mine is according to blood test which I get on my own with no doctor. Google that problem on what you can do naturally to help heal your thyroid. I know that eliminating sugar really helps in time. Etc. Read read read.

Easier said than done.
Stroke because of Thyroid Cancer and had to wait to remove it surgically.
AF because of Thyroid Cancer.
High H/R Day must have been over 250! So Beta Blocker which brought it down to 185.
Persistent AF - must have had it prior to stroke.

Yes I use a Vicks Stick instead of Flixonase.
Kiwifruit instead of meds for constipation.
2 Brazil nuts a day for selinium T3.
Exercise as I can. I walk play with dog on deck - the fetch act.
Brush my teeth with a little Baking Soda no chlorine or fluoride.
Boil and drink my rain water.
Do not live by a built up high Way.
Eat healthy with some meat, dairy etc.
Keep TSH at 1.7.
Keep B12 at 700.
etc
Sometimes in circumstances that need meds like Synthroid daily for replacement hormones.
CCB Diltiazem for control of H/R Day and a little drop in BP.. Anti.co.angulant PRADAXA 110 twice a day
are LIFE saving meds. But I'm interested in minimum interference. I have lost weight. Kept to my low-fat diet. LIFE IS good. I am happy to be here to see my kids, grand.. and great grand....children. I've just turned 76 and been with them. Another who lives in Australia I will see on Thursday.

Please don't be downhearted if your meds are 'saving' you from greater disability, stroke or heart attack or death.

Be proud that you are on life saving meds and acts.

Some can skite but in the presence of others not always is an easy fix with no meds. Research is better than GOOGLE.
