I don’t know if I’m too late for you to even be checking this post, but I suffer type two rosacea as well. None of the metro gel, ivermectin topicals helped me at all with anything other than the itching. The pustules, bumps, and inflammation, stayed the same. When the pain became too much and redness became unsightly, I did a round of minocycline until it cleared. Now, without fail, every night I apply a layer of prescription azelaic acid. Nothing else has worked to keep the spots at bay. I have not had a flare in over three years. I do have spots from rosacea scars that will surface occasionally, but the acid will usually take them down if I apply it twice daily. It saved me from antibiotics. Before I started it, I was taking a maintenance dose every day. That completely tore up my gut. I hope this helps. If you’re still reading posts, please reach out and share anything. You may have found yourself by now. Good luck!

Is the azelaic acid from a dermatologist? I just had a huge flare (never had one before), possibly from an OTC retinol (which I had used in the past, no problems) the doc gave me doxy (i took for 3 days and stopped) and a compounded cream of metro, ivermectin and one other medication. We’ll see! I would love all those pustules to go away. I’m 72.
