@ccorn

I developed a clot in leg (we think from covid), started eloquis Nov 1 in hospital and within several weeks noticed extreme pain in legs, including knees. I've always been an athlete, rowing, running and now tired, fatigued, and pain is unbearable. Asked Vascular and Hematology Dr.s who say "no cannot be from eloquis".
Why are Dr's so quick to dismiss odd symptoms especially when a patient who's a very active person and cannot even walk. I want to stop taking it since ultrasounds show no clot but they say too soon.
Has anyone noticed leg pain from eloquis?

Welcome @ccorn, I had a blood clot in my right leg followed by a POE in my lungs not quite 2 years ago. I'm still on Eliquis but it's down to 2.5 mg twice daily. I haven't experienced the leg pain you mentioned but I think I might seek a second opinion if my doctor dismissed my concerns. Here's some information I found that may be helpful:

"Can Eliquis make your legs hurt?
Having certain spinal procedures during Eliquis treatment may increase the risk of blood clots in your spine. Symptoms of blood clots in your spine include: numbness or weakness in your legs. tingling."

Have you thought about getting a second opinion?

They know the drug. Eliquis does not cause leg pain. It is safe for most everyone, and tolerated well. Statins, on the other hand, are not universally tolerated, and the same applies to anti-arrhythmic drugs.

You may have vasculitis, vascular disease, stenosis, peripheral neuropathy, etc., and you should be checked out....in my opinion. IOW, I don't understand why your symptoms are being dismissed. You may need to go to emerg to get better and more urgent care.

I'm not an expert in any of this, but my understanding is that a clot in the legs can be very painful, and usually is accompanied by redness, swelling...not always pain. My sister-in-law's mum had a blood clot in her leg and it was only noticed because of the redness and swelling locally...not pain so much.
