Is there any med that relieves mild but constant pain?

Posted by cekkk @cekkk, Sep 19, 2024

Tomorrow I am scheduled to drive sixty miles into the city to visit the pain management chap that the ortho Doctors I saw four years ago use. At that time, they offered me 3 or 4 opioid type medicines to help with the peroneal nerve pain, none of which did any good. I understand the one I am to see tomorrow does not prescribe opioids at all. I mention that only as information, as I Never used any of the previously supplied drugs for more than two or three days.

My Question is, Are new and effective drugs available today that were not available 4 years ago? Is it worth it to make the drive?

Naltrexone Isn't this for alcohol’ abuse? I do take Gabapentin 600mg 3 times a day. My Primary would only write 300mg twice a day, but neurosurgeon upped it to 600mg twice a day due to spinal injury. Finaly my pederast changed it to 600mg 3 times a day. I'm bad because sometimes or most times I forget or fall asleep before I take it. It helps most of the time but some days nothing helps but to sit down until pain goes away. I asked my Cardiologist about test he had me take that said high grade stenosis in and 50% stenosis in Tibal if that could be my problem causing legs to feel heavy after climbing steps and foot pain. I am having less of these pains with the meds but still somedays it does come on, can't tell when or why, sometime think weather cold, damp may bring it on but not sure

Just now seeing your reply: Naltrexone at 50 mg to 100 mg can be used for someone dealing with alcohol abuse. LOW DOSE Naltrexone at 4.5 mg has showed excellent results in reducing inflammation and reducing pain. It also helps for healing.

Coincidentally, I called AgelessRx today and asked why my wife was approved but everything stopped after they requested a photo and drivers license picture. Two months have passed. The gentleman who answered spotted the problem in less than a minute. I'm anxious to get her started on what likely will be .5 mg. I was rejected, understandably.

I recently switched insurance coverage...prior plan paid for LDN and new plan does not...so I pay out of pocket...it is well worth the $30 per month!

I'm dealing with Ageless Rx and not sure, but they may be charging more than the going price. Do you use a private physician for Rxs?

I'm going to talk to our family doc (NP if I want to go walk-in) about LDN. My DW could have benefit beyond my need. She has experienced extreme fatigue since a very mild covid illness almost two years ago. This could be a separate thread but suffice to say she.Entered the ER after three or four months of being nearly bedridden. She was experiencing dehydration and some I.V.Fluids pepped her up for a few hours. They ran all Sorts of tests on her in a short time and declared. She was the healthiest 78-year-old they had ever seen but needed to gain about ten pounds. Our family doc says the same thing. Maybe this is for her more than me. Thank
You to those Who brought this to my attention.

I'm back at last. The docs with ageless RX and denied me but approved my wife and she will take her first half milligram dose tonight. But she is concerned that it might interfere with other meds that she takes. Well, she doesn't take many meds. One. Simvastatin. And some other vitamins.

So it's a long process to get to full dosage. Ten weeks. I would like to ask if she should expect some improvement before she gets to hold, or would she needs to be at full dosage for a period of time? Unhappily, we are not expecting much to come of this.
