Insomnia and Cancer
HI, my name is Lacey, I have been in remission since Jan. 2015 and I feel great except for sleeping issues. I was on
zolpiderm for at least a year and the insurance co. just denied the prescription any longer. Instead , they prescribed
Trazodone which does nothing . I haven't slept in 48 hours and I feel that no sleep is going to cause worse problems
The zolpiderm let me sleep 8-9 hours a night. Do you have any help for this problem? Thanks, Lacey

Hi Laneyk, thank you so much for the information regarding zolpiderm and it not being addictive. Everyone told me it was, I did get a prescription and Walmart filled it for me, but it cost 37.00, but I will get two months out of them. I break a 10mg. in half and it works. I will look into the other site you sent me and check it out. Thanks for all your input, appreciate it. Lacey
I have the card saved on my phone. The pharmacy will go to insurance unless you tell them otherwise. I have used this card for 2 years now for Zolpidem and for my area it costs $7 and change at Walmart. I have looked at other drugs I take and it would not have saved anything. They were very expensive.Elaine
Hi Elaine, I just sent for the card at the discount network. I'll give it a try , and let you know,, thanks. Lacey
Hi Colleen, sorry it has taken me so long to answer your mail, but I have been so busy, I haven't had the time to read all the messages, so here I am finally, ha. In a way it paid off for me not being on , as I have learned something new and it will help everyone who needs medication and cannot afford it , as it has skyrocketed. I learned of a FREE
company that will honor your prescription and for less money than you can imagine. Go to GoodRX.com and check it out. I was able to buy zolpiderm ( which costs at insurance price of $37.00 ) for $7.00 for the same amount of pills.
at GoodRX. Hope you all had a wonderful Chiristmas and a very Happy and Healthy New Year. Lacey
Good to hear from you again @lacey. Thanks for following up with your experience with GoodRX.
How is your insomnia these days? Are you getting more sleep?
I got a FitBit for Christmas and I'm trying to improve my sleep patterns. Being on the computer in the evening is not good, but look at where I am again. I guess I have to keep working on it. 🙂
Good luck to all my fellow insomniacs! I've dealt with this condition since 2003 and have tried everything (sleep studies, aromatherapy, acupuncture, medications, etc.) - if you have any ideas, please send them my way.
I've had similar experiences with successful results from Zolpidem and good sleep. Likewise, insurance stopped covering and my Dr. suggested using Good RX. The costs have increased but availability is consistent.
@dianepenning Hello, Diane. I’ve also suffered from sleep problems.i went to a sleep specialist who had me change my bedtime routine and it has helped a lot. No reading in bed, no lights in bedroom, cool room, stop use of electronics several hours before bed, and no alcohol. It took a little while but it sure has made a difference! Try these and see if they work
I’m So sorry Sleep is So important!
My son with Epilepsy fights this everyday and it creates a vicious circle to fight being active, seizures and just quality of life. Keep us posted- he’s had a sleep study it was a waste of time for him!
Keep up the good fight!😁
Insomnia for 15yrs, wake at the end of every 3.5 hr cycle. Benzodiazepines are ADDICTIVE! Initial was Ambien which my Dr refused to renew after 3 yrs due to side effects; switched me to Ativan, not perfect but ok, withdrawal produced symptoms of heart attack, last was Belsomra, expensive, after 2 months I had difficulty completing sentences in conversation. Best solution has been combination of THC and CBD in an oil tincture, lots of fine tuning to trade off sleep vs sluggish next days. A natural product your body can deal with unlike chemicals. My wife uses THC for relief of stenosis after a Laminectomy w' cage, hip, and knee surgery.
